Depends on what you want. Truck to truck on the road you may want MURS. No license required and it is high band so it will "travel" further than GMRS, and possibly cheaper.CB radios remain popular for road travel mainly because they’re cheap and easy to install. Most GMRS radios sold now are hand—held units which put out only slightly more power than CBS and do not have exterior antennas. There are mobile, high-power GMRS radios that will work with external antennas but now you’re in the $100-200 range.
Technically, you need an FCC license to operate a GMRS radio. When I last got mine years ago it cost $70.
