According to Discover DEF, “If the truck is allowed to run out of DEF, the engine's power is reduced, a solid red warning will be displayed and the vehicle speed will be limited to 5 mph until the DEF tank is refilled.” If the DEF shortage gets worse, it could ground commercial fleets since they mainly run on diesel.

Wouldn't this be easily hackable? Since it's just for emissions?

Diesel tuners are squarely in the EPA's sights. Their coal rolling antics made them enemy #1.

Finding a place to source tunes and parts for a DEF/DPF delete is gonna be hard nowadays.

It's one of the reasons diesels are dead in the US.

Finding a place to source tunes and parts for a DEF/DPF delete is gonna be hard nowadays.

It's one of the reasons diesels are dead in the US.

Maybe as things collapse they'll make a comeback. It'll be worth it if nobody else can drive and if a smart seller takes Monero for payment.
