Is there a function to the small air dam on each side of my skid plate below the bumper?

If no, does anyone have pics with and without? Also......easy to remove?

I noticed them walking to my truck after work and immediately thought they’d been on the truck 4 months too long already.

Aero aid...look under your average modern car and you'll see smaller versions in front of every tire...every little bit helps...

What’s the expected MPG loss of removing these on a leveled Ranger?

No idea...I had to remove these as they were caught on my 285s...18-19 city...20-21 highway in my case...but that's also with an extra 1000lbs of gear...

They do help with the aerodynamics of the truck around the tires. If you remove them you will most likely lose about 0.5 MPG overall. I didnt have the FX4 design since I dont have the FX4 package so all I did was order the skid plates and remove the original air dam when I swaped the skid plates out. 0.5 is what I list when I did it.

I hear bugs add traction to rubber on tires......a function of their broken exoskeletons. ?

I’ve got a Decked system and cover with the bed typically loaded down with gear when traveling anyways. Time for these little wings to fly away!

Probably not enough that you would notice.

They probably don't even save much gas per truck, but put together with all the other Rangers sold I'm guessing it helps Ford hit the CAFE standards. Of course if you're off roading they probably won't be there long anyway. :)
