Considering my truck had false collision warning alerts until I turned it off I suspect this will do the same. Most people will waste trips to the dealer over it.

You raise a good point, @MountainGoat. Any new automated system carries a risk of false alerts until the bugs are worked out. That could definitely lead to unnecessary trips if it's not very accurate. I hope Ford takes the time to thoroughly test this suspension monitoring and minimize false positives before rolling it out widely. Reliability will be key to building consumer trust in the technology.

People forget, at the end of the day we have the vehicle prices we have now because of the government, not manufacturers.

My first detective step would be looking to see if the government is once again mandating something to the auto industry. A lot of people don't realize, things like back up cameras were made mandatory by the government.

Also, just for good measure, be sure to send a thank you letter to California. Chances are if I buy a new toilet for my house and it comes with new collision detection and emissions alarms its probably that state's fault.

I'm surprised California doesn't require all restrooms to be equipped with fart detectors that issue citations for people who fart more than others.

I thought backup cameras were stupid till we bought my wife's car that had one. Damn, after parking that thing a few times I was like wow where's this been all my life?

Made sure it was on the Ranger when I bought it. Do you need to know how to park without it? For sure, does it make parking easier when backing in, damn Skippy.

Tech isn't always a bad thing. The lane keeping, pfff you could keep it. Still don't really have any love for the auto braking either... with road ragers jumping out with weapons and active shooters, I might wanna hit somebody ?

But I like the backup cam, the adaptive cruise is nice on road trips. Some stuff I likey some stuff I no likey. I definitely hate the auto start/stop. That was my first mod, disabling that stupid thing.

I like the back up camera too. I like being able to see if any small person is standing or walking behind me. My brother-in-law's company requires that they always back into parking spaces when possible for safety reasons. Plus I can get really close when parking before hitting anything.
Would I have spent the extra money for it were optional, not sure.

“John Spartan, you have been fined one credit for violation of the verbal morality statute.”

I love that movie.

I wouldn't be surprised new toilets will soon be restricted to 3 pint flush...I bet water use has at least double since mandating flush volume due to OCD flushing 3-5 times to get shit done...
