I was just checking my local Ford Dealer (Future Ford of Concord, CA) and noticed that the prices are SUPER HIGH. Are they marking these up unreasonably or is there really that much demand?

Is this happening everywhere?

Seems it is a case of supply and demand, I was able to get mine for $2.5k less then window sticker using XPlan pricing.

It's tough right now to find Rangers in the Bay Area, but if you use X Plan they can't mark the price up.

No, it isn't happening everywhere. There is demand, but not enough to justify that price. They are greedy and trying to take advantage of a temporary shortage. Lots of folks on this forum got their Rangers for well under MSRP. Mine was priced at $200 over invoice (without any special plan) and then $1250 off that after a rebate and private discount. Shop around, wait till the supply increases, or as rangerdanger suggested, try to qualify for the X Plan. Costco also has special pricing if you are a member.

Agreed, that is BS. The STARTING discount around here is the Costco price and most will beat that. All the dealers are claiming to be unable to hold them on the lots but I went back to one three weeks later and saw the same Rangers sitting there. Of course that was also the same dealership that refused to discuss discounts with me...

I had the same issue with my local dealer that wouldn't budge about a month ago, and told me the one he had wouldn't last very long (btw it is still on his lot). Needless to say that salesman texted me just the other day and wanted to know if I found more money to put down. I laughed as I sent him the picture of the Ranger I already bought from another dealer an hour away from my house!

just because they are asking it doesn't mean they are selling. I've heard of a few dealers that have had Rangers on their lot for a few weeks not selling. It kinda depends on location and how many trucks each dealer was allocated.

One dealer near me has one truck marked up 3k (the other 3 on the lot aren't marked up), another dealer has HUGE discounts of $66 and $128.

I ordered a Ranger. I checked online today and they have released my window sticker. Its $400 more than when I ordered it. They upped the price of the Sports package and the destination fee. Not much chance I am paying that extra $400. Its over priced as it is.

Ford dealer near me has a different twist to the game. On some vehicles they mark up the advertised MSRP by excluding the package discounts shown on the Monroney label. Tries to trick people into thinking they are providing a bigger discount than they actually are. Example below. Look at their advertised MSRP then click the "show windows sticker" link to compare.

Its is a markup just like the Raptor. It is def. regional based on supply and demand. We had originally decided we were going to mark up $3000. No one even called us so we decided to go MSRP and sold 1. We are sitting on 2 now that no one has called on or even looked at on the lot so that selling price will be changing soon!

I get Dplan and feel like even at that discounted number the payments are ridiculous!!

This isn’t some limited edition or special edition vehicle like the Raptor... it’s a mass produced Ranger. The assembly plant is pretty much running at full speed now and within a couple months these things will be sitting all over dealers lots. I’d say good luck to any dealer trying to get over MSRP on them now and by summer customers will be looking for discounts on them as they pile up.

This was attached next to the window sticker on the Ranger I bought. Funny how they didn’t mention that on their website and when I spoke to them on the phone.

I guess it it didn’t work since I only paid $37,480 with X Plan.

What exactly were the dealer installed options? Or was that just their way to hide mark up?

The real window sticker added up to $38,890 with legit factory options (Tow, Sport & FX4 Packages). By law they can't modify that so they added this sneaky supplemental sticker with $2,995 of pure markup.
