I get about 20-23mpg average on shorter trips, I have 10 ply BFG tires in load range E. I get 8-10mpg towing a 6500# travel trailer, so something is up with yours or you have a really heavy foot.

driving a turbo vehicle is a “different” experience. You have to try and stay out of boost when accelerating normally, if you find yourself stabbing into the throttle and then backing off, try to ease into it slower and stop before you overshoot your target. Wait that extra 1/4 second for the boost to hit and that should really help your mileage.

I drive 10 mins. to work in an average speed of 50-60km/h and still getting 15.8L/100km(14.8MPG). And I don't have anything to make my truck heavier. Anyways I did called the dealership and they told me that they will get back to me as they're saying that because I only drive it short trips it doesn't calibrate like when the trucks drives on longer trips. That's what their theory was.

Thanks for your answer I really appreciate it.

10 mins isn’t long enough to even get everything up to operating temp. Take it on a much longer drive one day and reset the computer before you leave. My guess is you’re still extremely rich to heat the catalytic converters and warm the oil by the time you get where you’re going.

emptying out every bit of unneeded weight helps some. clean air filter and fuel system helps some. other things like tires designed to roll easy will help save a bit of fuel and a tune maybe but then the cost to break even point is out the window. we may be doomed into false conservation of going electric lol.
these days the only way to save money on fuel seems to be the flintstone method.

some information that might help

( 100,000 miles / 20 mpg ) * $4.00 = $20,000 in fuel
vs
( 100,000 miles / 22 mpg ) * $4.00 = $18,181 in fuel

Nearly $2000 saved over 100k miles.
How much of a headache and being cautious about your driving are you willing to put up with for $2000 over (maybe) 8 years to reach 100k ? That is less than $1 a day saved.

This is also why just going out and buying an EV is dumb if you are looking to save money. You would need to drive a ranger at 20mpg for 300,000 miles (which would be 24 years if you drive the average amount) before you would spend the price of a new EV (assuming 60k+)

You should drive efficiently, and that is important to me, but looking at the math, it doesn't make much of a difference overall if its only a minor bump in gas mileage.
$2k saved.... That's a Cruise for two...

Our FX4 is bone stock, except for some rock sliders, we consistently get 27 mpg or better.

That's not over a couple thousand miles, that's over 26,000 miles at 8,200 feet elevation.

Hand calculated.
Are you driving downhill and coasting?
Or you got a rare above average built engine from the factory...

On my first tank of gas with my new 2022... Thinking I like engine performance that can equate to better fuel economy... However, premium gas will take away spending power on upgrades and beer.... Mid grade is what I'd like to use... But are you not really getting any better performance and better gas mileage vs. premium... And thinking the performance gain is minimal using mid octane over regular octane... Just paying more dollars to run mid lead...
Not towing my future (in my daydreams)...a 29 ft trailer... Want economy too.. not drag racing Teslas....so don't need premium gas...

So where in the 'truck' am I...

Lost in this post not knowing what I'll do except put gas in my Ranger... Spin the wheel after I pull up to a gas station and mix it all up... Too bad I won't blend my own like I did years ago for my 3/4 race car or use race fuel or 95 octane in my performance motorcycles...
So a tank gets filled...
One day...or a. week....or a .month later it's a tank of premium...mostly regular unless there's a need for speed...add some Jack to the tank every oil change to clean her out to go again... It's like eating fast food or basic meals and drinking beer... You gotta change it up sometimes... Eat out at a 5 Star restaurant... Drink top shelf.... to fuel you...and eat a bowl of Colo Green Chili to clean you out...

Yeah, anyone who claims to get 27MPG with a 4x4 is just plain BS.

to those who overinflate tires for milage increase, do you calculated premature wear of tires? In a previous post, someone said it takes up to a mile to get up to 60. Boy, that must make them popular in their community. I'm sure they dont give a crap, but still...

Best I have gotten since I got the truck. Only for about 5-10 miles then down to 25 for the rest of the trip om turnpike, on cruse control at 70 mph .

Either that or they were a former Taco owner and felt slow acceleration is *normal*

Just a stock Ranger, drive the speed limit, use cruise control and running top tier premium fuel.

When we filled up day before yesterday, I ran the numbers, and the mpg was 28.5.

Our new Michelins that we got 10-06-2022 are helping the mileage, too
