Anyone know about them?
AS my 2019 warranty started to run out during the pandemic I purchased a Ford Protect Plan to extend my warranty to 72/60,000.
So I am getting close to 60K miles and I figured I needed to extend it.
I tried online at the Ford Protect website and got no where.
The guy said after I gave him my name.
"

" I am seeing an account with that name. There is no policy for our coverage. Which means your current coverage is not with us. We are unable to extend the coverage since it is not our coverage.
"
Yet on my phone I have the plan and have used it for a major repair.
Just who the hell is Ford Protect?
I didn't purchase it from the dealer.
So who the hell did I purchase it from?
I never got any paperwork just an email.
What a bunch of BS!

If you didn't purchase it from the dealer who did you purchase it from? There had to be some documents you signed when purchasing it.

Ford Protect is the one backed by Ford.

Tried to change mine and was told that my current plan had to be canceled before I could purchase a new one. I wasn't going through the dealership I purchased the Ranger from.

I got an email it said "
Thank you for your recent purchase of a Ford Extended Service Plan
"
and at the bottom was
Ford Protect Sales
Highland Park, MI 48203 US
[email protected]
Its got an invoice # on it.
Thats about it.
I had a problem with the AC. Took it to a dealer and they had it for a week.
They replaced the evaporator and the box it's in. The service writer said it would have be $5,000.
I paid the $50 deductible. So the policy works. The ESP shows up on my phone but thats it.
I think I figured it out based on what the chat said. If you purchased it from a dealer you have to contact that dealer. I didn't but I obviously got it from some Ford Protect plan seller. Originally I got some crap in the mail from FORD MOTOR COMPANY about Ford Protect. So like I said my warranty was almost up and there was no way to order a new truck (pandemic). I called them an bought a 72/60,000 plan. But I don't know who I bought it from thought I was buying it from the FORD MOTOR COMPANY. Cost me $79 a month and it paid for itself the first time I used it. But I think it's BULL SHIT the way they sell these warranty extensions if its not directly from Ford. I was hoping they were going to come out with the Ranger Hybrid but looks like they are not. The truck is pristine so I will keep it. But if it takes a shit and I don't have a extended plan it could cost thousands. Need to extend the ESP again. So now I am tasked to figure out who sold me the FORD BACKED plan.

This is my first fore into vehicle extended warranties. I am glad I had it. I wonder just how many vendors sell the extended plans. I going to reach out to them today.

We can assist with getting you longer coverage. It'll function by cancelling your existing coverage and putting a new contract in place. Email [email protected] or call our team 515-999-8228 and we'd be happy to help.

Well I called Ford. They were extremely helpful. The ESP is apparently sold by the Ford Sales DEPT.
I requested a copy of the contract that I never got. Budco is the financing company.
The contract account # goes by the VIN and your name. They told me to wait until the contract is almost up and them go to a dealer and purchase another ESP from them. Now the question is are they all the same cost or do you shop around.

Use Granger. Their pricing is the lowest.

Also, the dealership is great at service and my Bronco experience with them was excellent, right up until Ford said, "yea, you have to drop a bunch of stuff if you want this vehicle", so I just dropped the vehicle entirely.

Agreed. Grainger sells ESP at $50 above cost. Cheapest you'll find anywhere. Saved me $$$.
Dealer sold me 3rd party "Easy Care plan' with 6yr, 100K coverage. Bought ESP form Grainger 8yr, 125K coverage for $600 less that 'Easy Care' plan.
