I recently bought this and turned it into a permanent On-board compressor. It works well!!

So for mounting I simply removed the braket out of the plastic case and used 4 tech screws to mount it to the bed. For wiring I simply went through the rubber grommet, down to the frame and ran it all the way to the battery. On 265/70-17 tires you can air up from 20 psi to 30 psi on all 4 in about 5 minutes give of take. For size 285/70-17 it will take a bit longer but you do have more volume to fill up.

Good to know! I assume that grommet just drops right down? I plan on hard wiring it to my upfitter switch since it pulls 22.9A and my first switch is rated to 25. Did you just cut the alligator clips off and splice more wire in or did you change the harness all together? Looks great.

The compressor has a 40 amp fuse so I suggest you go straight to the battery.

I will also add that it has its own switch to turn on

Need to do this for my AUX battery setup. Any hints about where exactly you ran the wire? There are a lot of suspension bits and can't see a lot of places to hang it on left side. Did you follow back with another line like trailer wiring?

I simply followed the main harness across the left side of the frame rail and went above the fuel tank and other things to reach the back. How well you're going to do it with battery cable I can't say

It's not a full size battery cable, it's 16mm^2 so reasonably flexible. I couldn't quite tell where the main harness was headed, I'll put it on ramp and get under it this weekend.

I've been debating how to mount mine. My compressor broke a bit so it would be good if I could mount it in a box that mounts to the truck. This video just gave me the idea. Now to plan on board air tank and hose plumbing..

Still no issues with that setup, used it the other day to help someone on the interstate with a flat and a flat spare.
