Ford pass removing some features

I only use FordPass app to keep track of maint I do for the next owner. I do like that feature to add your own maint stuff.

I only use the FordPass to remote start my truck whenever FordPass decides the work. I do like the vehicle stats but I don’t need them.
I do really like the location map of where the truck is especially when I park downtown Denver.

I think u are wrong. I have modem but it's not activated. I have disabled auto update and will not update app.

The Ford Pass Connect is a freebee and does not require activating, just set up the app with your VIN. I believe you can turn it off in the truck if you want to but it is there and it is free.

Then there is the mobile hotspot feature which you get a 3 month trial then have to pay a monthly fee if you want to continue with it. I did not activate this on my Ranger, saw no need since my phone plan comes with unlimited data and hotspot.

I understand all of what your saying ....I understand the app and features....my question is are they eliminating start stop and scheduling for this app unless u pay for the modem? And if they are so NOT UPDATE THE APP

I suppose they could start charging for the feature with future sales but since they have made it a freebee on many models they would have a class action law suit on their hands if they tried to charge for it now.

Plus Ford has made a big deal out of the fact that they are the only company that gives you that feature free and the press release posted at the beginning of the thread is quite clear that if you have remote start, lock/unlock and scheduled starts now you will still have them with the update.

I know with my 17 Mustang, Ford Connect did not come with it so the Ford Pass app was of little use. Through Ford Accessories you could buy a modem module that required you to purchase a data plan from ATT to get remote access features on my 17, but it was included and free with my 21 Ranger.

Go into playstore search for fordpass and then upper right hand corner hit 3 dots and uncheck it. Done. Hurry up cause the update is there

My app updated today and I didn't lose any functionality that I can tell at all. I'm not now, nor have ever I paid for mobile hotspot. I started my truck with the app for the second time ever after updating. It still tells me my mileage, where my truck is, tire pressure, etc... Anything they removed, I wasn't using anyway.

I updated mine last night and I lost the things they said we would but I really didn't use them anyways. As long as the basic lock/unlock and start are there (which they are) I'm good. Tire pressure, oil life and scheduled starts and the map are all still there.
