Was over at a local Ford dealer looking at some Lincoln vehicles. They had a few of each on the lot, Aviator, Nautilus, and Corsair. All 2020 vehicles. One Nautilus had dealer marker on it identifying a few locations of fit/form issue (gaps, misaligned doors and rear gate, etc). Then went on to look at the others and all of them had some form of issue. An obvious build/quality issue with this bunch of vehicles.

Anyone notice this issue on 150's or Rangers?

I haven't noticed anything off with my Ranger, or the countless F series my dad has had over the years. However, a friend of mine has a Lincoln that ALWAYS has something wrong with it. Purely anecdotal comment here.

A few here had some issues with the hood and fenders aligning but I don't think it was a wide spread issue.

Apparently there are significant problems with the new Explorers and Aviators coming out of the Chicago assembly plant in excess of what would be expected with a new launch. https://www.boston.com/cars/car-new...elivery-of-2020-ford-explorer-lincoln-aviator

o_OSo what did you find when you went to the other manufacturer lots?
Perfection on the pacific rim vehicles I assume?;)

Of course, the fit and finish is nice, but I bought Ford for long term reliability...
The perfect fit and finish is just a bonus which i greatly appreciate.
hey! look what I found...

I was just surprised to see this on flagship line from Ford. If I walk over to Lexus or Infiniti I don't see any issues at all. Two years ago went to an Acura dealer and sat in a TLX where the interior plastic side moldings were unclipping from the body, was kinda surprised given I had a TL and it was built exceptionally well, was not expecting such issue with a new TLX from Honda, etc.

I can also note, my neighbor had a new supe'd Mustang a couple of years back, told me the car was always at the dealer needing fixing, and then one day I saw he had a VW and BMW in his driveway, he told me he had enough of the problems with the Mustang and just decided to get away from it.

Anyways, since I am waiting to order a 2021 Ranger just hoping the Ranger line is not plagued with same issues that Lincoln apparently has.

They hold the Lincoln line to a much higher standard. Body line checks are a part of the PDI (Pre delivery inspection).

Every manufacturer has lemons. Every manufacturer has cars that are bought by people that cant take care of a car. I will never avoid a car based on what problems someone's neighbor had. Even Toyota and Lexus, arguably the most reliable manufacturer, has plenty of horror stories.

My 2017 Mustang had panel alignment issues. It took two service visits, but the Ford dealer corrected the issue.

Ostensibly perhaps, certainly not arguably.

I think if you want to know about fit/finish and built quality of Rangers, you should probably check out some Rangers, not Lincolns. Sure they've got the same corporate overlords, but they're different vehicles, built by different people at different factories.

Uhmm, I was just noting my experience checking out some Lincoln vehicles, which are supposed to be their flagship "luxury" line. The same dealer sells Ford trucks & cars too, and is where I might be buying the 2021 Ranger.

But if Ford can't get their very expensive luxury line correct, why would I think any other Ford vehicle would be better than that? I might (I think we all would) expect/accept more issues with non-Lincoln vehicles, etc.

Anyways, I am still trying to get concrete info if 2021 Ranger will be modified T6 with the 2.7 as an option. I post it as soon as I know.

Not to walk over your bridge, but you will simply not find better anywhere else..., but please, please if you don't agree and you find something that you think is better...Buy it!
Nobody would want you to be miserable and stuck with second best, like you are now.

Never had any real issues with past 3 Tacoma's I had, or my Lexus, or the 2 Honda made vehicles I had (CRV and a TL). I also never before saw such on-the-lot issues like I just did at the Ford dealer. I figure maybe one or two vehicles at any one dealer, but a whole bunch did seem to be alarming.

Some appear to chalk this up as "normal for Ford". I just was not expecting it.

I believe the "new" Ranger (next iteration) will be in 2022. I would not expect any significant changes in the current Ranger - just like there were no significant changes from 2019 to 2020, I doubt there will be many from 2020 to 2021.
