I still wonder if the Ranger is going to take the midsize sales crown away from Tacoma. It is a tough uphill battle but it looks like Ford is going for it.

I think it’s very interesting to see them ramping up production so quick, the 300k potential buyers is a huge number .: what’ll be more interesting is to see if ranger takes sales away from Tacoma/gm twins or f150 .. for me it took away a sale of f150 since that would be my second choice

That is great. Maybe some of us with mid-March estimated delivery dates will start to see those estimates move to earlier dates.

My guess is Ranger sales will exceed Tacos very soon.

Maybe not world wide unless North American sales makes the difference.

Just read this in the Detroit News! Due to the extreme cold weather! May delay builds by a day or two!

Ford did not close any facilities due to natural gas restrictions, but lowered the temperature in its Livonia Transmission Plant and Van Dyke Transmission Plant to minimum levels. The Dearborn automaker is also suspending heat treatment processes at Sterling Axle Plant and stopping paint processes and parts of the stamping operation at Michigan Assembly Plant.

Was -14 this morning in Detroit area!

I think the google algorithm is feeding us all the same stories based on our previous search results; I saw the same story in my feed earlier. :computerrage:

Take a look through 6-8 automotive sites a day for a week and you will notice that they are all using the same images. Sometimes they use the exact same header message.

My order just transitioned to “in production”. I really hope the restrictions and limitations of the weather don’t hinder my trucks quality. Fingers crossed she comes out in perfect shape.

I've been waiting since Nov 5th. I look at those news reports as Ford "maybe" taking a humanitarian stance and cutting back on fuel resources that might help the entire area get thru a very nasty cold blast. And NO, I'm not a liberal. Its just that this extreme cold has really hurt the region and still has a ways to go. My waiting another couple of days so that the worker's families don't get put of fuel resource rations of some sort doesn't bother me.

More insights into the work schedule at MAP:

Paint & Stamping have been working two shifts for a while, Assembly started working Saturdays back in January and will continue for the foreseeable future. 2nd shift planned for when the 2020 Bronco starts up.

...and, take a look at your Ranger sitting in the cold snowy parking lot at MAP.:angry:

I saw some super cabs and at least one STX in those shots too, so they have been making them!
