Our Ranger is our third 4X4, first with a rear locking diff. I drove my son's Neon home for 'storage' after he upgraded to a new car. Storage is a pad shared with our boat, but was blocked with Iowa snow blower snow pile. I was too lazy to fire up the snow blower, so I cut down the bank as much as I had energy with a shovel, and power backed the Neon in to place. Almost. It tabled on the snow.
So I put the Ranger behind it, through an original 10" of 34 degree, rained on snow in 4L with the diff locked. Slippery side hill maneuvering wasn't for the faint of heart. Just enough side hill clearance between the neighbors fence and the Neon and boat. I had to climb a snowy berm to position the strap on the Neon. I put the truck into drive and the Neon pulled back w/o much throttle.
Getting the Ranger backed out through a narrower slot was a challenge, but we made it. ..thinking I'm good for slimy slippery boat ramps.
