Confession: I use CarPlay and voice commands. A lot. Plugged in the phone, pushed the voice button, and immediately got this message: Siri requires an internet connection. Seems their latest security update enables Siri to function without an internet connection, keeping your info in your device. That's good. However, the software that makes that happen is not compatible with chip #11 (iPhone X, for instance) and requires chip #12 or newer. So, the voice command that worked just fine before, is now disabled. Before you run out and buy a new phone, the update can be deleted: settings/general/storage/iphone update. It may be a temporary fix, but for now it works. Keeping my iPhone X - and my money.
