I’ve searched and searched and not found a how to on this, but it’s super useful.

If I missed it somewhere please delete or link!

To enter engineering test mode:

  1. Unlock truck, get in close door
  2. Press and hold OK on the left steering wheel button 10-15 seconds
  3. While holding OK insert key into ignition and turn to RUN
  4. You’ll see ET appear in your display — release ok button
  5. Use the up and down arrows to scroll through
Things you can check
  • Battery charge
  • Gauge sweep
  • Fuel in tank
  • Live rpm data if you started the truck
  • Live fuel consumption if you started
  • Various codes
  • Other engineer stuff
I’m not really aware of any vehicle settings you can change in here but this will help with things like troubleshooting and the like. For example my truck wouldn’t start stating battery issue and I found my battery was way under voltage.

well heck. I had searched the forums to see if I could find and I couldn’t find that post. I shall recede to the nethers!
Don't feel bad - I remember reading the post several months ago and the only way I found it again was by using google.

haha alright I won’t

saved my bacon tonight when I came out and truck wouldn’t start. I couldn’t find a darn thing on google or here and I shot from the hip hoping it was the same as my 16 focus was to get into it. I was able to instantly tell my battery was at 10.x volts so I knew I needed a jump. Hoping it was a hiccup but I’m gonna drive by the dealer tomorrow to have them check out my battery.

side note: who in the good lords name thought all those hookups to positive was a good idea. Lord I thought I wasn’t gonna be able to get it jumped barely a terminal present with everything they have hooked up there.

edit: fixing typos

ps post edit: hopefully named the thread for easier search and find. We really should have a sticky on it.

Thanks! I just added this to my bookmarks. I'm sure this will come in very handy and I'm to lazy to read the owners manual lol.

BTW...As much as I love my Lariat I really like your gauges, I wish there was an option to choose those.

Glad to help! I’m not sure if this is in the manual, I’ll have to check but I didn’t recall seeing it in the focus manual.

I love these gauges and layout. My only complaint is that a few things I’d like to have they don’t have readily accessible: actual rad temp, battery voltage, trans temp, etc. but I don’t think those are available on Lariat either.

I will admit I love watching the gauges sweep, wish they’d sweep on startup (the kid in me ha)

The most useful screen is AFE Bias. That 1000 number can be adjusted up or down to correct errors in the economy display.

does anyone know if the register addresses DE00 - DE09 correspond to the feature addresses in the ForSCAN thread?
