Something new?? New to the truck?? Mine came without the "top engine shroud", and I added it, because it reduced the upper engine noise significantly!! (injectors/fuel pump)

Stop by your dealership, let them listen!!?

its the no4 bearing journal ceramic bearing thats likely starting to fail from running too low octane fuel with a high viscosity oil. It all started when the dealership filled the washer fluid with orange coolant and under pressured your tires because the tailgate damper was overloaded from the 3" lift in the front to give the truck that aggressive tacoma stance. Had the dealership only applied moderate braking force while adjusting your stop start function, none of this would ever have happened.
Wow! That explains it perfectly!

Try chrome polished muffler bearings. And always gap your oil. I’ve got dual dipsticks just to make sure. But all joking aside. The sound you’re probably hearing is the high pressure fuel regulator at the back of your engine bay

Come by my work bay and listen to the high pressure fuel pumps on these newer Toyota's, slash Mazda, slash Subaru, slash BMW or whoever they're in bed with these days.
I'll take the sound of my 2.3 (uncovered) high pressure FORD fuel pump anyday!!

So Ford has a bulletin about this and it is simply the High pressure fuel pump. Its an unfortunate design for noise but it is what it is. Doesnt matter if I use 87 or 91 here in Colorado as it will still make the noise.
