Since spending an additional $10,000+ on an F-150 just to get 48in between the wheel wells wasn't an option, I dropped $25 on some lumber and hinges and made a rack to support drywall/Plywood in my Ranger Bed. The back support leg can fold down flat for loading panels into the bed and then just lift up on the back cross brace and flip the support legs down and the tailgate just clears the 2x4s. or leave it in the flat position if I'm hauling more than a couple of sheets.
