Hi. I’m currently running 305/55R20s with a 3.5” lift. I’m looking to downsize to an 18” wheel and upgrade to a 34” tire, or as close as I can get to it. I want more rubber and less wheel. I had to do a bit of trimming to fit my current wheel/tire combo so I’m hoping I’ll be alright with this change.

I’m currently looking at the Black Rhino Primm Wheels in a 18x9.5, -12 offset with a 5.72 backspace. In terms of a tire size, I was looking at these options:

305/65R18 = 33.6x12
285/70R18 = 33.7x11.2
295/70R18 = 34.3x11.6

I’m leaning more toward the 305/65R18 but before I start making any purchases, I was hoping to learn from the forum members and see if anything jumps out at you in terms of this new fitting not working. Any issues you might foresee?

I currently don’t have any issues running my 305/55R20.

Thanks in advance.

I am hoping to run the 295/70R18. I already have 18in stock wheels, and plan on doing a 3" lift in front front and add a leaf (1.5") in the rear with 1.5 inch wheel spacers. I know I will have to cut off the crash bars. I am also curious if anyone has run this size without a 6 inch lift kit.
I have been using this:
https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wh...70-18X8ET17&fcl=20mm&scl=10mm&wcl=77mm&sr=0mm

It seems like it may just be possible. Can anyone confirm?

Nice pick with the Primm!

I'm not sure about the 295/70R-18, but the other sizes may work since you've already made fender well modifications.

What wheel dimensions are you running now?

It’s taken me forever to narrow down my selection to the Primm. I was literally oscillating between about 10 different wheels.

I believe I’m running a 20x9, O offset and 5” backspace. The wheels came with the truck. I like the look of the current wheel/tire combo (otherwise, wouldn’t have bought the truck) but I want more rubber to be able to air down without as much worry as with a 20” rim.

I hear that! I was in the same boat with my better half's vehicle - took over a month deciding on the wheel model, between her and I

For reference, the front lip of the 18x9.5 ET+12 Primm is going to sit 1/4" further in when compared to your 20-inch wheels. The inside lip of the Primm is going to sit about 3/4" closer towards the suspension.
