So my family and I have been down in Mexico for about a week.
We rented our own car (Kia Forte) and have visited several places like Tulum and Coba.
Of course being a Ranger owner I have noticed the trucks around here.
I have counted about 12 Rangers this week (10 new generation Models and 2 older ones)
I have seen two Tacomas. One Colorado and this weird looking Volkswagen truck.

I say all of this to make one point. The Ranger is ruling the midsize market here. No Other model is even close.

PS. There is a Nissan and Toyota dealership in this town. Did not see any other dealers.

I've seen a ton of 5g Ranger trucks all over all the Caribbean Islands over the past 8-9 years.
Lucky for them they are able to import them while we had to wait until 2019 model year.
This is what sparked my interest in them in the first place.

I saw a handful on my last cruise in January of 2020. I was particularly excited by the non-US diesel spec I saw on Grand Cayman. I also nerded out over a few Mustangs I saw, especially a very modified S550 Mustang.

I noticed a few differences in the trucks from mine.

Like the badge that says Lariat near my mirror says Ranger on theirs.
And the rear tailgates did not say Ranger like mine does. ( 2 of them )

Were these trucks all diesels?

so, not to derail your thread, but this covid thing comes to mind.

how are you south of the border people doing with travel?
does your government require anything special?
are you fully vaccinated?
vaccination passports?

up here in Canada, I'm not even sure i I can go get a haircut yet.....travel right now (other than for work) is a dream.
We flew here from Dallas. No issues once we landed. As long as you wear a mask. We all were fully vaccinated but no one has checked us down here or at the airport.
We must have a negative COVID test to return to the USA which our resort does for free. If you test positive they let you stay here for free but you are put in isolation. Cannot leave your room for 14 days.

We were on the lake a couple of weekends ago with some friends that had just gotten back from Mexico. They had to get COVID tests with negative results to be able to get on the airplane sometime in a 48 hour time period prior to boarding. They said the tests cost $45 a person. No proof of vaccination to get back.

Nope. Wide open. No masks. Lots of folk vaccinated.
Cruises start from Florida this month.
Friends from Alberta headed this way later in the year to join us on a 2 week cruise.

About 70/30 split diesel/gas from what I saw. Their gasser is a non turbo though I believe.

I saw a lot of Rangers on my last cruise back in 19. Interestingly, my father lived in Panama for a bit and the only trucks he could get were Nissan.

did you see that cruise ship in Italy already had a covid incident?

of all the touristy things to avoid, I would think cruise ships would be the last thing to go back into tourism.
traditionally they have been festering pots of sickness no matter if its the flu, norovirus of whatever. they just seem to be a magnet for it.
Ive always wanted to do a cruise, but this whole fiasco has soured me from anything in the near future.

https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/italy-cruise-covid-test-scli-intl/index.html
https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/vsp/default.htm
I don't think it will ever be like it was with widespread outbreaks.
Seems now there is much more known about the virus and at least how to deal with it.
Here were 2 from the cruise out of St. Maarten. Not going to stop me from living even if it kills me.
