Don't Look Back!

I'll make it worse for you... up here in the rust you could have easily got $10,000 for that truck even if it had 200,000 miles. I'm drooling over it for $3500
Exactly! That kind of deal is what makes us Northerners go 1000+ miles south just to pick up a used vehicle. That's the kind of truck I'd been looking years for prior to the new gen coming out!

Don't get me wrong. I love my 2019. I just also loved my 2010 and $3500 to lose it wasn't justifiable in my mind.
I too have a habit of getting attached to my vehicles. Sometimes I feel bad when they drive off. Your 2010 Ranger looked really good. I agree that $3500 to the dealer was too low. I know here in Arizona, that would have sold fast on CraigsList for a lot more.

I wouldn’t regret getting a new Ranger so much as losing such a nice old Ranger. I can’t find a 10 year old pickup for less than 7k here and yours would have fetched 12 if it’s a 4x4.

It is always tempting to look back at the past vehicles you have had and wish you could have kept them. For me it's my first car, 1957 Chevy and my wifes first car 1969 Camaro. But Unfortunately we can't keep them all. So when you park your Ranger in a parking lot just park it out by it's self and take a look back as you walk away. Enjoy the view, these are some pretty trucks. Enjoy. And post a picture of it here all detailed up. I can see you keep them looking good.?
Boy howdy. I was a gearhead in my younger years and I won't break your hearts with a list of the now-valuable muscle cars I used up and sold off. The one I really miss and regret selling to this day was my '68 Camaro SS 396. That car was a beast. The one that got away was a '70 Charger R/T with the 440 Six Pack. Sad story, bad decision, watched the car drive away without me. Too soon old, too late smart.

I just spent an hour dissolving bug glue from the front end. Will get to the rest later. Time for Sunday afternoon beer now!

If you use that hybrid ceramic wax - Maguiars or Turtle- bugs will just blast off at the car wash or with a small pressure washer

i dont know your mileage, or any other particulars about the truck, but trade in on a 2010 in good condition here in canada would net you $3300-4100 according to KBB.
My 2000 XLT 4dr 2wd 4.0L Super Cab brought $5k last year to a private buyer and had 140k miles, that was in KY. This was in alignment with what KBB also said.

He's been in the garage for over a month, so I got him out and gave him a bath!

3500? that truck is worth about 8 to 10k. Insurance gave me 7k for my 2004 (also bought new by myself) reg cab 2wd XLT when it got totaled last year. Ouch!

I’ve owned a 94 Mazda B4000, 05 Ranger FX4, and 04 FX4 LV II prior to my 2020 FX4. While earlier generation Rangers hold a special place in my heart, I don’t miss them after buying the latest generation.

but...did they roll all the other incentives into it at that time?

In Aug last year the incentives were minimal as the Rangers were new on the 2 Ford lots in Saskatoon. I checked a few of the smaller towns around here and it was the same there as well. If I remember correctly I got 4 grand off with the 0% financing. Had I had known I would have waited until later in the fall as they were giving much better incentives.

Sadly Steve, that's what I was thinking. In my area (southeast) a $3500 Ranger is a 1995-2000 with like a million miles on the odo. But, it's done now, and there's nothing to gain looking back. Enjoy the new one, and forget the old one. You'll be much better off that way.

fond memories. My only regret is that I didn’t take better care of it. Let some things go longer than I should have. Great little truck.

I’ve had other vehicles I still miss. 1974 Datsun 710 for one. Kinda weird looking, but a LOT of fun to drive.
