Ran across this gem a while back and got a photo. Really curious how this thing came to be.

Not sure of that point of that, seems to have same bed depth as a factory bed, but probably a little more cubic space due to no wheel well arches and wider.

Wouldn't it be more ideal to add wooden walls on top of the existing bed rails if stacking space was what you were after. Wouldn't be hard to design something that could be taken off when not in use...

It would have a completely flat load floor, handier for loading drums or totes

No doubt. Some tread plate, a brake press, and a welder and you could have something pretty sweet. Ironically, that truck is parked outside a shop with more than enough equipment to do the bed right in steel or aluminum.

I'm guessing the truck had a toolbox bed that was sold or auctioned separately. Quite a few utilities are setting up Rangers with aftermarket beds around here.

I don’t know, but the base scab can be purchased with a bed delete option. My guess is that a dealer had it on the lot and couldn’t sell it, so he made someone a deal they could not refuse. Then they made their own bed.

I wish I could be so lucky to run across that dealer.

Do you think that the salesman threw in a Ford badge to close the deal?
Possibly, but they were smart enough to not put the dealer decal on it. Can't say I blame them.

Needs a vanity plate. I think a plate that reads "JED'S" would be pretty funny.

Haha. Man the parking lot at that place was always a walk through the wild side.

I'll see if I can find a photo of the zombie apocalypse hyundai I used to see there.
