I think Diamondback was expecting to already have their covers available for the Ranger based on their predictions a month ago. I just emailed them again and it appears they may be getting closer but have run into some issues in development for our trucks.

Today’s email response:

“We are still working on the best solution for these. We have been having trouble getting a good solution to the big drop at the bulkhead of the truck. We are doing some more test fits next week. I will keep you posted.”

I really hope they get them straightened out soon. Only cover option I like and a two fold works well with a bed extender. Had a Sport Trac previously with both.

I already have a Yakima Bed Extender I intend to pair with the cover when I need to haul extra long loads. It’s like having a long bed without having to deal with parking it all the time.

It’s FINALLY available for the 5 foot beds. I just ordered mine, the HD version with the optional CrossBin 13 box.

How much?

Edit: Nevermind it's $2,049 for the black HD series.

The SE version (400lb capacity) is considerably cheaper at $1649, with the black line-x coating. The non-coated versions for the SE and HD are $1329 and $1729, respectively.

I wanted the HD version because I plan on hauling heavy loads (think ATVs and a rooftop tent mounted to the cover). It has a 1600 pound capacity. This cover should last a long while, all the seals are replaceable and you can simply take it to any Line-X shop and have it looking like new after a spray.

So the black coating is actual Line-X? What's to stop you from buying the stainless steel and getting it sprayed yourself?

Probably nothing restricting you from doing it that way. You could call the Diamondback guys and ask if you could spray it at a later date and see what they say.
