Have a 2021 lariat FX4. I want to put the 7 pin trailer hook up on it and see here others have done it. I looked up the parts and come up with:
fu5z14489a, kb3z15k868d, and fl3z19h332d
I already have the 4 pin connector under the bumper so from I’m reading the one part is the wire harness, cut out the bumper to accept the new plug and the controller for under the dash.
those of you that know what else do I need?
Thanks..

Here you go. The plug in the kit doesn't fit the bumper cutout, so you'll need this too.

I installed this on my '21.
does the multi pin receiver fit on the bumper after cutting? easy to install? i bought the first piece when i got my hitch but never installed it because i didn't like how low it hung.

To the left of your plate, you can see an outline of what to cut for the 7/4 pin connector. Behind the plastic, there is a hole for it in the metal frame. The plastic is not hard to cut. I used a razor knife and a Dremel.

Before you put the connector in, bend the clips out/open a bit. They are perfect to fit just a metal cut out, but you'll have a layer of plastic there too. The first piece plugs right into the connector I linked. I sold the connector from the wiring kit in a yard sale and made a few bucks back.

That module that you listed the part #fl3z19h332d for, is it actually needed? I thought just the wiring and the 7 pin connector were all that was needed? Or is this for the trailer brake controller?

Yes that’s the trailer brake controller. I’m not sure if there is a wire harness there for it to plug into of not..

So this takes care of the wiring for the lights for both the 4 pin and the 7 pin but not the power feed for the trailer brakes correct?

Yes. You’ll still need to connect the tbc of your choice under the dash, but the wiring from it to the trailer connector is complete with that Curt harness.

I am curious on something as I am somewhat confused, as I know that

The 4-Pin Trailer Connector - uses the BJB and BCM to feed power back to the connector
You get (LH & RH) Stop and Turn and Parking Lights and a Ground

The 7-Pin Trailer Connector adds in the TRM (Trailer Module) to share power supply back to the connector
The Park Lights are still getting main power from the BJB with a tie into the TRM (1) Pin
The LH & RH Stop and Turn are controlled via the TRM and get the signal from the Can Bus (2) Pins
The TRM supplies 12 volt power (for trailer charging) - when valid trailer connected is sensed (1) Pin
(1) pin is for Reverse Lights tap into the circuit - which is triggered by the BCM but powered from the BJB (Trailer Reverse Lights Relay)
(1) pin is the Blue Wire that runs up to the (tapped harness) - Drivers Footwell - for the TBC
(1) pin is Ground

So, since I have the 4/7 Combo and the TRM - already installed with the Tow Package, I can see the Full Wiring diagram from the factory.

However, where I get LOST is those without the Tow Package and only the 4-Pin Trailer Connector. I may have asked this before or found the answer before. I Forgot

Do ALL RANGERS have the (TRM) Trailer Module Installed and wired?
To clarify I am talking about the module under the Glove Box

I actually believe this is the reason for the dealer response " IT CAN'T BE DONE" and I can understand why they made that statement.
The wiring diagrams DO NOT show a Without Tow package diagram, they only show Combined circuit.

If the TRM is installed, then the simple Harness Swap and Plug Install - Makes Sense and then add in the TBC as others have done
As this will now Intergrate the TRM into the system that is sitting there doing NOTHING

If the TRM is NOT installed, then I am confused on how this harness swap works without adding wiring for full function as with the Tow Package

I am also understanding in order to get the 4/7 Way Plug from factory was to get the $495 Tow Package, if you have the 4-Pin, you do not have the factory tow package nor the hitch receiver.
But would use a Hitch Ball (Mounted into the Bumper)

Sorry, but quite a few factors and options here that vary on that Tow Package

My 2019 Lariat did not have the tow package from the factory, but it did have the TRM under the dash. I added the 4/7 wiring harness and 4/7 trailer connector, Draw-Tite trailer hitch, and the Ford trailer brake controller. The Ford wiring harness is a different part number depending if your truck has rear parking sensors in the bumper or not.

I'm not sure where you get those numbers, but here it the correct harnesses:
Genuine Ford Trailer Tow Wiring Harness With Park Sensors - KB3Z-15K868-D | Levittown Ford (levittownfordparts.com)

And the correct controller:
Ranger 2019-2023 Trailer Brake Control Towing Pack 2 | Accessories.Ford.com

And the instructions attached. You'll see the TBC is more than just "plug and play" to do it right.
harness is the same part number I have and I got the controller part number from the same place

That is the trailer module (TRM) not the break controller. The TRM is mounted in the right footwell and controls the trailer lights on trucks with the tow package.

This is why I wanted to highlight the TRM as the OP mentioned in the first post about getting it.
And no one stated he did not need it.
So yes - OP they are 2 separate modules, and it appears you should have this already installed.
This will simplify things and all you need is the Harness already mentioned.

For Ref: The TRM (if installed) is mounted under the Glove Box (Circled)
It is mounted under the TCU - Telematics Control Unit

As pointed out - This module is only for Lighting, Trailer Bat Charging and Trailer Connected Message in the IPC

If this is installed, then the wiring is present from here to C405 - which is where the Options Change happens and from what I can tell - the part numbers from C405 to the bumper are as follows.

These all include the License Plate Lights
KB3Z-15K868-A: 4 pin harness w/o sensors
KB3Z-15K868-B: 4 pin harness w/sensors
KB3Z-15K868-C: 4/7 pin harness w/o sensors
KB3Z-15K868-D: 4/7 pin harness w/sensors

There is another P/N for the Harness, but this is for a Flat Bed (No Bumper) Config it appears

That P/Number is KB3Z-13A576-A - Through (-F) it appears it is only the trailer wiring, no plate lights or sensors - Not very CLEAR, but if you have a bumper then this is not it.
