CV axel gap

Anyone else’s driver side axle stick out of the diff this far? I feel like it should sit flush to the diff but I want to make sure that it’s not supposed to be that far out before I pull that side apart and start messing with it. Thanks for the help everyone!

Why would you think that is an issue?

That's right at the normal area. How so? Well if the metal gaurd was touching it would tear up the oil seal and thats the last thing you want to have happen

Well the outer shaft has the same cup on it and it sits over the hub so I assume they put a cup on that end to seal against the diff.

On the outer it is right against a metal hub that spins with the axle. On the inner not so much.
