I was detailing my Ranger to shake off the 350 miles of winter and I found the area at the edge of the driver door near the side mirror has a 1 inch stretch where dirt partials were on the car during the pint job at the factory.
My question is to those out there is, Do you think the whole door has to be repainted or a smaller repair could be made? See pics.
I am very picky and do not want it to show because my eyes will go to it every time I get in my truck.

And the surface between the front and rear side windows of my crew cab are finished with a simulated plastic tape. And it is pealing and bubbling at the edge near the roof. See pics. I have no question, I only want to say, Have we really got to the point that we are simulating plastic?

IMO, this is one thing where the Ranger is not quite a Tacoma and may never be.
Other than the bubbling plastic on the lower rear quarter, I guess I'm lucky because I haven't found any paint issues after detailing a few times.

On my 2010 Ram (white crew cab), the area between the front and rear windows also had "black-out tape" applied. A lot of owners (me included) just pealed the tape off since it was painted underneath the tape....looked way better with the tape removed. The $1,000,000 question is---is it painted underneath the tape on the Ranger ???

Someone over on FB posted a pic of his blue supercab with the blackout tape removed. His was painted under the tape.

I have a similar issue in my door jamb. Took it by the dealership Friday and they are going to take care of it when I drop off the truck for its 5k mile service in a few weeks. I'm sure your dealer will do the same if they have a body shop, I'm going to just pay attention with each cleaning and hopefully get any other defects taken care of all at once

I also found 2 contamination areas along the door and 2 on the hood as well as a scratch which I could not buff out today.

Oh, and the driver door rubs on the when opening and closing and ... But I do still love it and I just ordered the Ranger Raptor grill from Joe in the Connecticut. It was half the price of the Thailand grill which made it affordable for me and there is no modification needed. I’ll post that when I get it on.
Here are some attempts at the photos of them. And the mirror shine is with Norton Fire and Ice which has been around longer and much cheaper than F11. Mostly used by detailers but it is on Amazon these days.

Yeah when I was in today they looked at the 2 paint drips on the passenger rear door. It’s covered under paint defects, but he said it may end up with the door needing to be completely repainted which I’m not a fan of, but he said best case scenario is they can sand these spots down and buff them.
