Console Arm Rest Cover

Is anyone elses arm rest cover look like this on the corner?

Looks like it was cut too close to the corner before installation or something rubbed on it. But I can't find anything that would have rubbed a hole in the material.

Yes, mine is like that too. Luckily I am switching the entire interior to a custom leather job, so this piece will too be replaced. Poor quality work.. and honestly, this cover is synthetic leather material, cheap as hell.

Two months old, and it already has this piece broken.

Poor supplier quality...Wonder who supplies..Lear maybe? Looks like the Noga they used for its hide was very old and mottled..

I'm not sure this is real leather. It definitely does not feel like it and the underside looks like it's some type of woven material that is bonded to the "leather"

Hi Adam,

I am not sure what is meant by Leather Trim...is the center console top trim? One of these nebulous areas. Old days, Leather seating surfaces meant if your butt did not touch it, then it was synthetic. Got a former engineer that worked for me in Ranger that moved on to Seat Comfort. Think I will email him and see if he has an answer...guy was quite an interesting fellow...Dead Head...followed the Grateful Dead, played guitar and tried to emulate Jerry Garcia...well..not the drugs part...

It's a warranty item. My '19 did it and they ordered a new one for me.
On my '21, I have just put a vinyl cover over the whole thing.
I know that's not the answer you were looking for, but maybe just start with the dealer and file a claim for a new one first and see what they can do to help you.

Eventually I would like a nice padded leather cover. But for now, I just put a cheap slip on cover from flea bay.

I use THIS. But my cover is still fine.
Yeah its just Fleece. I mainly don't like having my arm stick to the armrest in the summer. and its warmer in the winter!
Fits Nice and stays put. and IMHO looks good
Looks like I need to toss it in the wash though.

Has anyone been able to disassemble the lid? I have searched everywhere and can't find any info. I'm a diy person. I just need to open it without breaking it.

I want to know how also. Haven't worked up the nerve to take it apart yet since it is my wife's truck. If it were mine I would mess with it till it opened or broke. A new one isn't that expensive but probably the same crappy quality. I would rather just disassemble it and do it myself for free or close free.

I just noticed my center console (arm rest whatever its called) "leather" is hanging off on the front r/h corner too. Looks like crap and I'm out of warranty ('19) so well see what the replacement part costs, then dig out the headliner adhesive?
