Looks like a neat solution.

Question. Is there skid plates that cover over the catalytic converter?

EDIT: yes it does as a user posted the image of the under carriage. Either way it’s super tough to get to the cat on our rangers. Only ? get close to the ?, and that’s another whole issue.

Interesting, but I bet I could use a grinder and cut off wheel and cut thru the strap and pipe quicker than with a recip saw.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
That's interesting, we have had a rash of cat's stolen from trucks & Prius vehicles around here. We do park both the Ranger and my wife's Prius in the garage at night, but she is out a lot and the damn thieves are getting bolder. I checked and a replacement for her car (if you can find one) is $2500.

There's a thread on this somewhere. The cat on the rangers is right off the turbo an tucked up inside the engine so I'd say it's safe from theft. Thefts are generally for easy targets where the cat is flat an out in the exhaust stream.

There is a Toyota-endorsed protection plate for the Prius. I have one on my 2021 Prime.

I thought mostly trucks and suv's were targeted for cat theft since there's more room to get access.

Here's a cat from a Prius an it's right in the exhaust stream.

Here's the ranger cat an you can see how hard it would be to cut out.

No cause to cut through a 2.5” exhaust pipe you better have an 7-8” wheel (if the pipe is close to the floor pan and you can’t rotate the grinder around the pipe) which are rare.

My wife just ordered it, but I told her she would have to go to the muffler shop to have it installed, no way I can get under that thing!
I had the Toyota dealer do it. My jack wont even fit under the Prius.
