I guess it would be neat to document some of what I have done to my truck. Let’s see how much I can forget or more likely find comfort in being in denial over.
The goal with the Ranger is to have a reliable daily driver that can take me off the beaten path. For me the fun is the destination, getting there is just a necessary evil. Canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, camping. That being said, I do have standards. Really happy with the truck so far.

Quick backstory is that I had a day 2 reservation for a Bronco. Was driving a 2019 Edge and the Bronco was so appealing. Then, as more specs were revealed, the more I realized it wouldn’t meet my needs (poor payload & towing). Then the delays. Then changes to availability of certain options (I only wanted the modular hard top).

The eye starts to wander and I see there is a Ranger Tremor model becoming available. Cancelled the Bronco reservation in February. Test drove a Ranger in April. Ordered a Lariat Tremor with tow, keypad, and spray-in liner early May. Truck arrived middle of July.

I knew I wanted a tonneau cover. Also knew I would add a trailer brake controller. And the fine folks here have helped me spend and spend and spend…

Oh, I’m from the US, living in Canada.

As of writing this - February 8 2022:
- Bak Revolver X4S.
- Ford TBC - added the round trim and put the knob where the driver side cigarette lighter was.
- Diode Dynamics SAE Yellow Pros in the bumper opening.
- Lux rock lights x8.
- Painted tow hooks race red.
- LED front signal lights.
- Tinted LED side marker lights.
- Clear w/ amber LED repeaters in mirrors.
- LED puddle lights.
- Philips Zevo license plate lights.
- Engine cover - painted Cactus Grey.
- Black Gorilla 3/4” lug nuts.
- Go Rhino 13” exhaust tip.
- BlackVue 750s 2ch dash cam with 256gb card and BlackVue B-124 battery.
- White clearance lights in rocker panels.
- LED bed lighting with timer circuit.
- Ford tailgate d-thingy.
- Added SAE connector in bed for 12v power point.
- RockBlokz XL black/black Tremor mud flaps.
- Prinsu roof rack.
- Added USB/USB-C and cigarette lighter outlets in cubby at top of centre console for rear seat area.
- RedTek mirror auto-fold module.
- RedTek window module.
- Additional tie-down d-rings in the middle of the bed.
- Cravenspeed Stubby Jr antenna.
- BillieBars - slightly modified.
- DIY bed slide.
- Black Ford emblems.

Future (have parts on workbench):
- Canoe hood loops for hood and bed.
- Door sill protection - clear.
- Paint side vents Magnetic with red accent and add 3D printed Tremor text.
- Amber LED lighting on pinch-welds.
- Paint tailgate handle magnetic.
Future (need to order):
- Diode Dynamics Max combo for a-pillars.
- Snow tires for fall 2022!
- Tent trailer converted for off-road use.

The tailgate thingy went on. Tried my hand at painting the brackets. Looks like it belongs.

Painted the engine cover.

The relay and time module for the bed lights. Switch and connectors added to the bed.

Turned a few rolls of wire and cloth tape into a harness that would accommodate the ditch/a-pillar lights, rock lights, amber f/r whip plugs, rear power. Later added a smaller harness to accommodate two sets of lights in the bumper.

I wanted to be able to select which upfitter switch controls. I added deutch connectors to the input side of the Tremor relay box under the hood.

This is why I purchased this truck. GPS is of no help. The bike carrier is for sale. Bounces around too much, adds length to the truck, is not handy when we want to make a quick stop.

What started as a search for the better of a Thule or Yakima rack lead me down the rabbit hole. Some great advice from others who went there before me helped me land on the Prinsu roof rack. Gets you street cred with the Toyota guys.

This was a looooooooooong install. I ran into all the typical issues. Had extra hardware and tools on hand to help.

I was able to take my time, measure and cut the gutter trim so it could go back on the truck. Really happy with the results.

The bed needed some additional tie-down points. Originally added 1/side. Went back and added the 2nd per side.
The requisite shovel, axe, traction boards strapped in place.

The beginning of a bed slide. This will be removable. Have some other neat touches to add to this one. Extruded aluminum is on order. Should be here in a couple weeks.

Gaia for Android works on the truck's screen for GPS.
