Button lighting

I've searched the site and the manual and can't find the answer. During the day the only a few buttons are back lit (in orange). Because of tint and a variety of factors I cannot readily see important controls - fan speed and temp adjustments for example. Only have 200 day time miles but I see that in what evidently are perceived by the truck as night or low light, the other buttons have a nice blue glow. I REALLY would like to have that all the time but I am afraid that isn't possible????

I think it only turns on at night or when headlights are on. Maybe ask in this thread: FORScan Modifications

That was my thought but haven't looked at that enough to understand it very well. Will say that is a big topic
