Yes, Ford hit it out of the park with this. For Ranger fans, this probably means that a lot of these cool features will be incorporated into the next generation of our trucks!
If the Ranger gets the 2.7 V6 and a driver side grab handle, I'll be satisfied.

I need to see if there is any room behind the rear seats of the two door. I need room for the dogs!

It's possible but I fear it wont work that way. Everything is indicating Bronco is being spun off as a sub-brand. Add to that the rumors of a Bronco pick-up possibly on the table and I think that equals Ford keeping the neat features in the Bronco line-up. Unless they evolve the Ranger Raptor and bring it state-side!

Within the first minute of the reveal last night, my wife turns to me and says "we should've waited". haha Then she spent the rest of the night researching it and trying to figure out we could get one and have it make sense. haha She's partial to the 2-door in cyber orange. I can't blame her there.

It's one of those things where I'm disappointed I'll never get to have one. The truck bed is just too darn useful for me. Even though a Big Bend or Black Diamond with that manual would really hit the spot and probably be a great SUV, I'm just not sure I can convince myself. Now the wife might end up trading in her Escape in a few years for that 2-door she likes, I'd be fine with that. Or maybe I can convince my brother to get one. Then I'd at least be able to be Bronco adjacent. haha

Has anyone seen interior shots of the 2-door? I have not. I'd like to see what the spacing is like back there too.

But they have said that a Bronco with a truck bed is coming soon as well! (Just to make these decisions even harder!)

That truck would club the Gladiator like a baby seal.

I would trade my Ranger for that, pronto.

And if they did it something like the Jeep J6 concept, even faster.

I’d trade right now for a bronco truck. Like mentioned above, the truck bed is just hard to give up. I’ve got the fridge, camping gear load out, roof tent and can still fit two bikes and a kayak on the roof. Can’t do that with any SUV unless you start stacking or pull a trailer.

Although, seeing how the bronco will be fords off road brand I can’t imagine the Ranger/Raptor will get any kind of disconnecting sway bar or more hardcore off road focused goodies. Just have to wait and see!

Yeah, if the Bronco truck comes in a boosted 2.7, then the next generation Rangers better have that as well. Otherwise, a lot of power-hungry Ranger owners may move on over....

No wonder Jeep released their V8 Wrangler teaser to try and steal some thunder.

And not just the regular old Hemi, it had to be the 392 Scat Pack Hemi.

They're not worried at all.

This is going to be a Jeep thumper.
Yeah, the Bronco offers much more than the Wrangler at a lower price.

Jeep is definitely worried.

Nice job by Ford in these

GF is very serious about getting the Bronco 2 door. We watched many You Tubes on it last night.

I doubly like all the excitement as it's driving up the value of my old clunker. :like:

Not that I'm ready to get rid of it just yet.

One thing that is not yet clear to me is the issue of the take-off tops and doors. Are these optional, or do all of them have it? (In addition to the 2.7, I would want a fixed hard-top and stay-on doors in case I decide to move over. I hate moon roofs, sun roofs, detachable roofs and doors, etc.; fortunately, Ford did not force that stuff on Ranger owners at the higher trim levels.)

The question now... does Ford give the Ranger the 7 speed or the 2.7 Eco V6 on the next refresh?
