I had my front bilstein 5100's installed today by a local shop and couldn't be happier. I had them set at 1.8" and that leaves me with 3/4" of rake left which is perfect because with my bass boat hooked up it sags about 1/2". The truck finally rides like I had always hoped it would. Cant wait to get the rears and get them installed here shortly.

Nice. Just ordered the Bilstein kit from Stage3. Includes the front adjustable struts and rear 5100s. Website claimed they had two sets in stock. Looking forward to a better ride. Seemed like a very good sale price.

I think the shocks made a bigger improvement on the rear than the front. I did the rear about a year before getting around to the front.

Out of curiosity, what did they charge for install?

I also did the rears first.

The rears made a bigger improvement but that may be because they were coming from stock FX4 shocks, and when I did the fronts the rear was already improved.

I'm overall extremely happy with them front and rear.

I have Tremor springs in the rear which also helped a good bit.

I have those 5100's also and they are a million times better than the stock shocks. That was the first mod I did at the end of 2020 two months after I purchased my Ranger. Well worth it for sure!

It was 520$ cdn before tax for install and alignment.
That’s a fair price Mark. Nice to have a good local shop to trust for this kind of work. ?

Did front and rear at the same time and it was like night and day from the leaking FX4's

I have a 2021 FX2. I don't have the rolly loose feeling that people describe with the FX4.
But I do have alot of bouncing with my camper behind the truck.
I assume 5100s will help with towing, but will they be too stiff for normal highway use?

No. Half the people with the fx4 who complain about the ride probably don't even regularly travel on dirt roads lol, you'll be fine.

Turns out there is no noticeable difference between the unloaded ride with 5100s vs FX rears, which is good.
Hopefully I will see an improvement next weekend with the trailer.
