I'm no metallurgical expert
Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, would you kindly turn your attention to exhibit A. where my third-party metallurgical expert, Mr M. Cart, illustrates evident casting faults in the timing cover. These faults ultimately and exclusively led to the serpentine belt tensioner's catastrophic failure and the subsequent damage. ?‍♂

I'm no metallurgical expert, but you can see two deviations on either side of this fastener.
Clearly a casting fault brought to light with the torque of that bolt, which propagated into a crack that spread fast because of the belt tension. See if the dealership can argue that point effectively. Use bigger words if necessary.

"Harsh Language" is more effective...

How many of us are going to check that spot now? :frown:
You can’t really check because there’s a cover in the way. Not that I looked. ?

If it is a bad cast , which it does look like , then it aint the only one , WE ALL DRIVING TIME BOMBS !!!
Maybe not in such an All Cappy manner, but this is very much what I'm thinking?

There could be a specific bolt pattern or method the guy on the line should have followed when installing the bracket, which if not followed correctly could put undue stresses on the soft metal these things are made from, and then add in about 45000 miles of vibration and stresses and it lets go like that.

That thing looked like it was a razor edged pinball bouncing around under the hood when it let go, there are a lot of broken bits to repair.

They may try and blame all the mods but I wouldn't accept that. That bracket should be capable of handling pretty much anything we could do to these motors.

Good luck at the Stealership.

That sucks. A big chunk of metal and spinning rubber sure can do a lot of damage. All though it’s BS, I imagine the dealer will put up some resistance here. Keep us updated. Best of luck.
WOW! SON OF A B***H, that did some damage! Weak area in that casting. I have 54K on my 2019, sure hope it is a one off. Sorry it happened to you. Keep us informed on dealer shenanigans

E, sorry about your truck. I hope Ford does the right thing and takes care of you.

I have a 2020 also, what month was your truck made?
The guy said he tried to call but I don't see a missed call. Games!

I'll look up my build date asap and get back to you on that.
