I had a Silverado diesel riding my ass yesterday. We were in a 45 MPH zone, that opens up to 55, which then heads into open land. When we hit the 55, I punched it. I could see he stepped on the gas too because there was a cloud of black smoke coming from his tailpipe. He just kept falling further behind as I approached 90 MPH. Take that you SOB!

You don't need a V6 F150 to have fun with a Ford. To your Ranger, just add Ford's exhaust, a Roush intake unit, and Ford's Performance Package. When you get done, you'll not only run away from the aforementioned, but all but the Raptor F150! Great fun, but you'll need tired before you know it!
I respectfully disagree. With your tune and mods, you will be able to hang with them if they are stock. No way you are running or even walking away from them. BTW, what do you think would happen if the F-150 had similar mods and tune for what you recommend for the Ranger? Like I said in a previous post, I had the pleasure of racing a F-150 Ecoboost, that I would highly bet was tuned, with my Mustang GT. My GT won, but the F-150 put up a good race.

I did refer to as stock. If you look at the stats on Fords Media site, it is evident that the percentage of “tweaked” F-150s is really small. So most of the time a tweaked Ranger will win. Obviously, racing an F-150 Super Snake would be a loosing battle even for your Mustang!

That is a beastly torque number. I have similar horsepower but my max torque is not quite that high. My torque curve is straighter but man you have some pull down low! We have pretty amazing four bangers.

Well in spite of what Sammy Hager says, apparently I CAN drive 55. Driving in either Eco or Boost mode and this truck amazes me.

Odds are that the Taco driver won't be posting about this encounter on Tacomaworld

One 3rd gen guy on there posted about a BIG slice of humble pie experience handed to him by an EcoBoost F150 and was excoriated along with the usual TW White Knights saying the F150 broke down 5 minutes later, etc.
I just traded in my 2018 Lariat FX4 F150 with the 2.7 because I didn't need that size anymore. That thing was extremely quick for a truck. I

I agree. I just traded in a 2018 Lariat F-150 with the 2.7EB, and it was quicker than my 2020 Ranger. My Mustang GT would totally destroy both of them. It’s a truck. Pretty quick for a small truck, but it’s a truck. My Mustang is 1000lbs lighter, and has 200 more HP. My Ranger wouldn’t even beat it off a light unless it was snowing.

What are you guys talking about I dusted a Hellcat the other day! Just kidding it was parked in the lot and I just drove by it but a win is a win. All jokes aside it's a fun truck to drive and definitely faster than my 7 seat Honda Pilot grocery wagon.

Going up against a Super Snake would have been a bad day for my Mustang. A supercharger can really wake up a v8. A friend of mine had a Roush tune on his Ecoboost Mustang. It was a fast car. One day he pulled up to a light next to a SS Camaro. He didn't think he would beat him, but thought he would hang with the Camaro up to @ 60 mph. As my friend described it, he got smoked. It was the worst loss he had in his Mustang. He ended up talking to the guy and found out that he had a supercharged 6.2L v8.

I don’t usually do this with a truck, but Dodge owners never give up trying to beat a Ford truck. Most have given up on the F-150 with an Ecoboost because they get smoked every time if they’re driving a Hemi. I guess they’ve moved on to picking on the “little guys” because Dodge owner... Anyway, I can verify a Ford Ranger can pull a Dodge Hemi. Not by a lot, but enough to have the guy screaming and beating on his steering wheel like the idiots they are. I’m sure the guy got home, popped his hood, popped a beer, then checked his plug wires and air filter...then blamed it on his air filter.

I was surprised

today....after cleaning my air filter the other day, switching my oil to Mobil 1 synthetic, adding a tailgate damper and running pledge wood polish through my intake and turbo (it helps the air flow smoother all you race fans), i took on a Subaru with a large wing, a super loud exhaust and some fancy wheels. it was pretty dope to be honest.
Not sure what model, but it sounded fast....I dont think it was a WRX, but it had that look.
turns out me, with a lawn tractor in the back, complete with ramps and two jerry cans of gas and a couple axle stands stayed ahead of him up until i had to let off the gas for slower traffic.
he then went past me and held his head low and didnt look over.

I'll tell you, that tailgate damper made all the difference. The pledge though....it was lemon scented, and it also helps with that funky AC smell....
Add a second tailgate damper and next time you'll walk him by a mile. lol ?
