BAKFlip MX4 on Amazon, genuine?

I've decided that the MX4 is the cover for me, and currently I'm seeing a 5% discount on Amazon at this link. Not huge, but $60 isn't nothing (plus I get rewards with an Amazon credit card). This is the only discount I found while googling for an MX4. BAK and third party websites all have it at the same base price as Amazon (to the penny).

Has anybody bought a BAKFlip MX4 (or other BAK covers) on Amazon? Is it genuine and/or coming from BAK directly? I don't want to end up with something fishy (used, returned, missing parts, etc.), and I want to make sure I have proper warranty coverage too.

Your link shows it being shipped by Amazon, which I would prefer. Also, Bakflip price matches, so you could always buy direct from them, if you want.

The Amazon Q&A section seems to have a number of answers marked as coming from the Manufacturer/Seller/etc., which seems like a good thing. And it includes answers that they use the seller's return policy (in this case Amazon's), which is also good.

Reviews have some common complaints (missing parts, instructions are useless), but they mostly say good things about BAK customer service too, which I'm glad to see when I'm dropping over a grand on the cover.

Great to know about the price matching too! I'll have to look at whether BAK or other sellers would charge for shipping, such that it would be a total higher price vs Amazon, but good to have in the back pocket (BAK pocket? haha).

Thanks for the info! Hopefully will get an order in after my next paycheck, and then hopefully the snow in my area will stop for long enough to get the bed cleaned and the cover installed.

It should be fine. Its from the bak store on Amazon. I think I bought mine from real truck for the same price. I used affirm and made 3 payments on it at 0%.

I was told by gator that Amazon specified the cover with slightly different fasteners making them cheaper and they wouldn’t honor Amazons price because of the part number. Amazon used plastic fasteners compared to metal on mine.
This is gator but I’m pretty confident it is across the board

If it's being sold by Amazon, which the one the OP linked is, it's supported by the manufacture. It's the products sold by a 3rd party that you may have issues with.

Yeah Walmart does that too, especially on TV's and electronics. Always a slightly different model number that uses cheaper/lower performance components.

As others have stated, this appears ligit from Bak. I bought a MX4 Revolver directly from Bak and like it very much....Instructions were very poor but the install is straight forward and without difficulty for me. Sort of clunky for one person to handle the 5' side rails but I managed okay on these old knees and back... You should be fine..... I was going to order from Ford and get the Ford logo, but savings directly from Bak and the fact the logo is hidden most of the time made dealing with Bak worth it...

Phil, I believe you have the Revolver X4S. You helped me with a measurement a few months ago.

The link posted is from the BAK store. Seems legit too. If in doubt, once it arrives and before you open or install it, call BAK. They can verify for you. It is good to be skeptical now. I think you’ll be alright.

Honestly id steer clear tried installing mine today and its poor design. Pretty sure they took it from another midsize and jimmy rigged it for the rangers. Gonna return mine and get another one. The clamps dont properly lineup and grip the tail and backside of metallastic of bed. Thr teeth dont lineup properly and its so easy for the clamps to come loose.

I bought the BakFlip MX4 for my Ranger from Amazon (exact listing the OP linked to) back in December. Looks like the price has gone up about $80.00. It was in a carton from BAK packed with all the parts and instructions. I had one on my F150 for years and am happy with the one for my Ranger.

Exactly what I have on Bak Revolver...been on for 2 years with no loosening. Have no problem at all with clamping to the bed rail pinch weld flange. I think the design is fine. Your picture seems that you have added a shim. I did not shim anything and do not recommend any shimming. My clamps look like yours but no shim....not sure what I am looking at in the blurry picture. Maybe the bed rail is different for the Revolver???

Possibly, because of the angle of the of the cover rail w/ the teeth, and the positioning of the back plastic/metal part of the bed, the clamps dont sit straight into the cover rail w/ the teeth interlocking. Hopefully, that makes sense? Basically no matter how hard I tried w/ repositioning the cover rails, the clamps dont sit flush to properly grip, and so only like 1 or two at most interlock.
