The cleverness is it sounds like he made it up.The only guy coming in with a serious answer. Lol...
If you look at and read this, you'll know that you have been graced by a Krell presence.Hi Alex
My take is that it is a Helmholtz tuner for induction noise reduction.

How does it really make you feel? ?That's not even funny.
I looked this up and its a real thing, I had no idea.as long as there is no speaker inside the box like the Audi exhaust systems....it's all good
This is falling in line with what the SERIOUS ? answers are stating. It’s a sound dampener for intake air. Reduce noise upon accel
Hmm, Its just a clunky, clattery diesel, you would probably miss the acceleration from the 2.3ltrI don't know what that is, but I would like to have the engine hooked to it.
Thank You, did you notice a hit on mileage or performance? I like to hear those sounds, but its not worth losing performance to me. My wife loves to hear them to, I cut the muffler off and welded flanges so i could easily remount it. I left the resonator in though. It gave a low grumble and you can hear the turbo when its warmed up. She loves listening to it. Hard to make a Diesel sound good. Can confirm: if you remove it you get lots of loud wooshy turbo boosty noises.
Thank you for sharing your experience with it, I may try it for a while. Why did you put back on, if you dont mind me asking.@viperwolf My very scientific experiment didn't last for long enough to notice any difference to mileage, definitely no difference in performance according to the ol' butt dyno.
Well, casually we all call it the DFDAFFCIQ36ESMSMSECMORBFSTDSWYMCI.So what I think it is according to everyone
its a : Dikfer-Dampner Air Filter-Flux Capacitor- Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator-Speed Monitor-Seat Ejection Charger- Muffler oil reservoir- blinker fluid reservoir-Spare Tailgate Damper Storage-what you ma call it
Hmm, I really feel the name could be shortened.
I sort of jerry-rigged an intake with a pod filter out of parts I had left over from another project just to see if there was any improvement in response from the turbos. The turbo noise was actually annoyingly loud so I took it off pretty quickly lolThank you for sharing your experience with it, I may try it for a while. Why did you put back on, if you dont mind me asking.
Ah ok, Im not removing the stock intake. Just going to try removing the DFDAFFCIQ36ESMSMSECMORBFSTDSWYMCI. <-------or thats what Im told its called ?I sort of jerry-rigged an intake with a pod filter out of parts I had left over from another project just to see if there was any improvement in response from the turbos.
