Thinking about getting some 265/70/17s when my truck comes in and want to see what they look like on a Ranger. How is the gas mileage effected and is it a smooth ride?
Post some pictures!

I believe @Nopalito has them on his Ranger, though they are 255/80r17 (quite a bit taller). I have 265/70r17 BRG KO2s in load range C.

I get 20 mpg, which was down from 23-24. Though I also lifted the front 2.5''.

Picture for reference on size.

I have them - had them several months now and love them. Great in the mud and snow and pretty quiet on the highway. The only negative is it does give a hit to your MPG - I lost 1-2 MPG with them. Far superior to the Hankooks, IMO.

Opinion on Open Country A/T3?

My service advisor convinced me to get Toyo over Faulken.

Had my dealer install prior to delivery in 7/2020, Toyo Open Country AT3 LT265/70R17 together with the Ford Performance Tuned Fox 2.0 Level kit.

Firm controlled ride. Great on and off road. After rugged rock roads, not a scratch on the sidewalls and very few stuck stones. Road trips average 22-25MPG. Yes, heavier... and a little more "clunk" with potholes. If I didn't drive rocky roads, I would not have bought LT's. After a few thousand miles, there is slightly more tread whine. Previous AT tires from other brands did the same.

I bought a fifth matching tire and OEM wheel to have a proper spare.

Couldn't be happier.

I have 255/80/17s Toyo AT3s E rated. Absolutely love them. Kick ass in snow & rocks and very comfy on the highway.

I've been running 255/80/17s on whats now commonly known as the bronco black diamond wheels. No issues other than a tendency for the rear to get light in very wet conditions while trying to corner fast. So no real issues haha!

I've been debating going 255/80/17 AT3s.

I'm on the factory Grabbers now. They are ok. Not great.

When my tremor grabbers get some age, I’ll do a change too. Debating between the 255/80 size or 285/70 size.

Same. As long as people here are happy with their pizza cutters, I'll go that direction.

I had pizza cutters on my last two Jeeps to keep the tires under the fender flares. From what I can tell, the Tremor can get away with the 285/70 tire and still be under the tremor flare.
