I've been looking for any US rangers to post on Fuelly but nothing yet. Any owners on here have some MPG numbers they can start sharing? Any surprises or disappointments?

I'm assuming it's going to need a break in period to be completely accurate, but right now I'm getting 18.1 mpg. That includes a substantial amount of idling and a bit of off-road time in 4L. I also took one 60 mile freeway trip. It was at 17.1 before that drive.

I agree with the break in theory, Im between low 19s and 21 mpg . lots of remote starts and idling aas its cold here.Doing some towing right now so its dropping off quickly.

Keep in mind MPG figures are typically 10% or so lower during the winter as well.

I average 18 to 17mpg on factory installed 2.5" level and 33" AT tires. This is with setting the cruise control to 70mph on a 40 mile round trip down the interstate in my area. I average about the same in town babying the throttle. I run 91 gas whenever I fill up.

I've never owned a 'jacked up' truck and when I inquired at the dealership before purchase he told me I might lose 1-2 mpg off the estimated numbers.

So a bit of fault lies with me and my ignorance and some of it is the bullshit I was fed at the dealership.

In simple math I am roughly 34% below the "estimated" highway rating of 26mpg.

Luckily I only average a few hundred miles a month as this is my weekend cruiser only. If it was my daily I'd probably be a bit more peeved.

Other than the gas usage and the cold start shuddering (which there is a TSB out now for it that) I really have no other complaints. I love my truck. My local dealership CS is garbage tier, but that is another story.

That all depends on whether it's stock or not...I see a lot of envious MPG from stockers...mine is over weight by a 1000lbs, lifted, fat tire, fat fender, no air dam so I'm less than ideal but still reasonable at 18.5-20...

Still factory and just over 8000k miles. Have not reset Trip 1 since I bought the truck with 6 miles on it - 24.3 mpg with only 93 octane from a single station. My trip is off by +0.3 mpg based on my hand calcs.

Shorter trips I reset Trip 2 and from SC to upstate NY i got 25.8 and from our house to teh beach it's a full tank and I got 28.4 round trip.

About 4000 miles since May and getting 20-21 mpg. Most driving is 60mile round trip to work, 70-75 mph. I have used 87 and 93 Octane with no noticeable difference in mpg or power. Truck seems to adapt well to either octane.

Heres mine. Just turned 5k miles. Of those I tracked 2k were pulling fairly heavy uhaul trailers. 2k were pure hwy miles. The best mpg I got was non ethanol 93 octane. I have run nothing but 91/93 octane since I got it from dealer. Changed oil to full synthetic and am curious how it does with fresh oil. The mpg in our escape and the focus we traded in would get worse the closer to 5k oil change interval.

Hand calculated 21.7 with 1900 miles on it. Mostly 50/50 city and highway commuting with DuraTrac tires. Not much better than my F150 tbh. (21.5)

Ashley, I live in NC and we travel to MB often. I find going south I get better mpg's than I do going back to North Carolina. And, that true on all of my vehicles. That's strange to me. The wife says it's because when you're going south it's downhill, and going north it's up. She's so funny. :)

BTW, my Ranger is on order, and hasn't arrived yet. Talking to my friends that have EcoBoost engines they tell me there's sweet spot that gets more mpgs. That's finding the spot where you stay out of the "boost" when starting from a dead stop. Have you found that to be true?
