Had to make an emergency trip at 3am this morning...cruise set at 65 speed limit and alone on the freeway...suddenly, OH SH*T!!! Horns blasting, two or more young deer sprinted from the darkness right across in front of me...I was able to miss the first one but the second one collided somewhere left rear with a thud that shook the truck...after what seemed like an eternity, I stopped at my destination and braced for the worst...with my flash light, I couldn't see any panel damage...hmmm...where did it hit? The next day, I looked closer and could see small amount of deer fur/hair trapped between the rim and tire bead...there's soiling on my fender as well...but no blood...it appears the deer ran into the side of my left rear tire...the soiling was from the poor deer's butt...not sure what speed I had slowed to during the collision but I hope it survived without much injury...Msfitoy lucked out big time...

Sounds like you got off lucky. Change of shorts needed? 😲

the winner is always the bigger of the two.
I have won countless battles with squirrels, rabbits and the occasional raccoon.
however, I know I would lose against a swamp donkey.

Look out for the chupacabra.

Yep...from that stain on my rear quarter, I think the deer would use a change as well...

One foot in front or rear of the tire and I'd be crying...would not be happy about repair panels and paint...my OCD would give me a sudden heart attack...

Sid, that was too close. Glad you got off with no major damage.
Thanks Chuck...very lucky that the deer ran into the tire rather than the door or my fender for that matter...the Air Design flares are pretty robust but would be completely busted if it met a deer...

I searched Google for "Ranger5g deer" but didn't see any threads...pretty sure lots of people here crushed their Ranger from unlucky meeting with deers...I forgot the name of the member who hit a cow and totaled theirs...

Cows are the worst. They’re huge and slow. Deer at least try to run. Cows just stand there and take it.
This would be even worser or more worser.....when the critter chases you....
