Teach Me...

If I were to buy a, lets say, CZ Scorpion and add a non folding stock to it, would it require registration because of NFA ? the barrel is less than 16" but overall length of the firearm might exceed 26". I am confused on what require registration and what doesnt.

I decided to build this, but not in airsoft, for $@%&s and giggles. I have no good reason for it than it looks cool in a stupid kind of way, and I am going to build it. Parts are inbound hot!

Oh yeah, I will be running a "real" optic. Sig Romeo-MSR sights went on sale pretty low buck.

Damn it... now I want to build one. I have a spare NFA lower sitting around too...

So lets see, NCSTAR carry handle/red dot combo, HERA stock and grip, where to get the meat grinder? Who makes it?

I wonder what you could swap the red dot with on the handle to something not crappy, I'm assuming its two pieces.

I ended up mounting a SIG Romeo red dot. I had some issues that are causing me to build a completely separate upper with new parts. The Swordfish wouldn't fit past the gas block on my 10.3" upper so I ended up building the upper with a 9" handguard and no face-smasher attachment. So I ordered a naked upper, 10.3" barrel with pistol length gas tube, and all the parts to assemble it!

Last competition of the year last weekend…..drove the Ranger all over Reveille Peak Ranch shooting a Dissident Arms KL12 shotgun (VEPR based) and competition AR.

Unfortunately, I never crossed paths with a coyote or wild pig while there so I never got to pull my 6ARC truckgun.

I did fill up with 93 octane and was once again judged by Greta!

Was on Rideabout in the Ranger and ended up in N Ark. Went to the Daisy air rifle museum in Rogers. Never realized how much different stuff they had done. Interesting stop.......

A little good news that'll help ease the ammo shortage. PSA will start making steel cased ammo starting with 7.62 but not until mid 2023. With Brandon banning all Russian ammo imports this will help along with creating jobs here.

Did a few thing to the p01. Still not really sure what I want to do with this gun but probably mill it for a RMR at some point and use it as a bedside/camping/range fun toy. Reading that probably suggests I have no idea which one of those will prevail lol.

When I built out my SBR with the Hera Arms stuff, I actually tried modifying it with the existing 10.3" upper and it's carbine length gas system. I had ordered both the Hera Arms 7" and 9" handguards, but obviously the gas block would have sat out in front of the handguard with the 7" setup, but the "face tenderizer" didn't work with the 9" setup. I ended up originally building up the upper by swapping out the A2 front sight base with a low profile gas block, the 9" Hera handguard, and a slip over muzzle device. I was unhappy with it though because I didn't achieve the exact build I was aiming for.

I ended up ordering a naked upper, a 10.5" barrel with a pistol length gas system, and another Hera foregrip and building that to work with the "face tenderizer" and I ended up with the exact build I was aiming for.

So I was left with an upper without a BCG...

I initially thought I would just trade the bolt back and forth and have two uppers. But there was no really point in having two similar uppers in the same caliber with the same length barrel. I then thought of just swapping the barrel out for one in .300 Blackout. This was appealing to me because I could swap the bolt back and forth.

But then it occurred to me that I have a .22 bolt sitting at home that I haven't used in YEARS because someone klepto'ed my magazines! So, I ordered some Black Dog Machine magazines, and a charging handle. Soon I will have a dual setup SBR!
