Take the tail lights out and change the bulb. Now if you change the turn signals to LED you'll have to get bulbs compatible with can bus for add resistors.

i did it on my 2020 Lariat, was easy no problems. thinking there was a video on it somewhere? may be on diode dynamics, that's what i use, what a difference.

From my understanding the only non LED bulbs on the Lariat and Tremors (equipped with factory LED headlights) were the plate, mirrors, side markers, and front signals. The reverse lights are already LED and integrated into the tails and not serviceable.

The empty power plug is exactly what I’m looking for. Where is it located? Left right somewhere in the middle?

Better late than never - here are pics from @4g63det and @gfitzge2 - the plug is on the driver side next to the bed inside the wheel well near the leaf spring hanger.

Looks interesting, but will probably have the same issues everyone has had using the trailer plug for extra lights. The truck thinks you have a trailer connected and shuts down rear parking sensors and cross-traffic alarm.
That's good to know! I had no idea.

It would cost car manufacturers pennies to include an auxillary plug for lights back there that did not require tapping a wire on a harness. Also - It would cost light manufacturers $3 to $6 to just make a T-Blok that goes in between the harness and the factory lights.

For me, tapping a wire is the first sign of a shitty design.
No thanks.
Ain't gonna do it.
It's not the way John Moses Browning intended it to be.

it also prevents you from using it when you need to backup to a trailer in the dark. That sucked getting lights at just the right angle to see the connection, but not to flood out the backup camera.

After looking things over you have a Lariat so the LED rear light assembly’s are sealed. If you want more light than what you have now you can easily upgrade your cargo lights and really brighten up in back of you. They’re up high so throw lots of light. Diode Dynamics has some super bright ones that can be used. I went with the medium ones and still makes a big difference.

Another user on here did something different and is another possibility if your a DYI type of guy https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/cargo-lights-as-back-up-lights.10350/
