Prayers and sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Honolulu Fire Department Firefighter Jeff Fiala.

Brother Fiala was killed when battling a building fire when the roof collapsed onto him and another Firefighter., he was just 25 years old, a recent Firefighter recruit graduate and recently married.

Although I never knew him personally, the death of a fellow Firefighter while battling a fire strikes heavy in my heart, and, I'm certain other First Responders worldwide.

Sorry for your loss. These along with LE are really the true heroes out there putting their life on the line every day. Hopefully they know that they're appreciated for all they do! God bless them and watch over them.

Mahalo Dave for your kind thoughts and words, I myself took the Firefighter's oath way back in June, 1994.

It was the most satisfying and rewarding occupation one can ever think of, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat, despite the countless dangers involved.

You, your family and friends just have to deal with those dangers...

It takes brave souls to put themselves in danger for the sake of others. Sorry to hear of this tragedy. And thanks for the work that you do.
