What Did I Consider Before Purchasing the CX Revo?
I didn't know too much about truck caps when I started researching but I knew that ARB made one for the Ranger. I really liked all the features of the ARB Ascent so I contacted some retailers in the Northern Virginia area. None offered the Ascent but one did say they could custom order one for me from Australia. With COVID-19 and the likelihood of the shipping costs being exorbitant, I threw out the idea of the ARB Ascent and landed on the Snugtop. I liked the styling of it but I couldn't find a dealer close to my house and so that's when I stumbled on A.R.E's Ford Ranger Project Nightfall. When I saw the CX Revo on that truck, that's when I made the purchase.
What Do I Like About the CX Revo?
1. Frameless Windows
2. Styling
3. Contoured Window
4. Lots of optional features
5. Comes with an LED Light
6. Quality construction
7. Drive quality is so much better now that I don't have wind sheer from an open bed
8. Added safety feature of having an enclosed shelter in case of a bad storm or if, for whatever reason, I'm not comfortable sleeping in a ground tent.
What Don't I like About the CX Revo?
1. The color match is very slightly off, I can notice it, but anyone walking by probably won't
2. The hinges to the contoured window are a bit rough (they smooth out with time)
What Add-Ons Did I Purchase?
1. E-lock (highly recommend)
2. Roof Rack Tracks
What Do I Regret Not Having Added-On?
1. At least one sliding door window for my dogs. There's still enough ventilation that gets into the cab where they can travel comfortably, but for temperatures over 80F I have to use a pair of clip on fans to ensure there's enough air flow and cool air for my dogs.
What Have I Added Since Purchasing the CX Revo?
1. Bed Rug Mat
2. Rhino Rack Pioneer Rack (custom install)
Would I Purchase It Again?
Yes, without hesitation.
OVERALL, I'm really happy with this purchase. I think it adds great styling, performance, and functionality to the truck.
