Too tight to cut it with a Sawzall but you can get at it with a grinder/cut off wheel. At least I don't think so. It took some finessing with a cut off wheel.

The Fabtech instructions for their crash bars actually say to use a SawZaw. While I myself used an angle grinder, I actually think a sawzaw would have been easier is I owned one.

Did you have to take tire off?

I can't recall where I saw it but one of the lift kit supplier's instructions said to remove the thru bolt and just slide it out of the frame tube. Has anyone done this? I don't have my Ranger yet to try it myself but plan to install a kit when I get the truck.

An oscillating tool would also be a good choice if you have a long enough blade.

You can slide it out if you want to remove the bumper and fender but that’s a lot of work.

I guess so. Thanks.
To clarify, myself and others have totally removed the beams my removing the bolts but there isn’t enough room to slide them out. As such, it’s a two-step process. Cut the beams to provide clearance, then remove the bolts and slide out the remainder of the beam. Here it is after complete removal.

Need a pneumatic drill to get those bolts off. They are torqued on there pretty good. I cut the crash bar off yesterday with a sawzall

Step one I’m buying these wheels 18x9... putting stock tires on these wheels .. step 2 going up 2.5” in the front ... step 3 putting a 265/70 18 on the stock wheel with not so aggressive tread .. then on the fuel wheels they will get a 275 70 18 durattrac .. going to a 285 creates too much hassle

Very helpful comments guys. Did any of you have any plans to swap the removed crash bar with a modified one (if such a thing exists)?

My biggest problem is on the drivers side. I did a 3” leveling lift with 285/55R20s. Passenger side is fine.

@VetteBro they do exist.

Both FabTech and ProComp offer kits with modified intrusion bars. FabTech has them available to purchase separately. ProComp only offers their's with a lift kit.
