A few sources from this forum and YouTube state the difference in ride height (rake) front to rear to be around 3 to 3.5 higher in the rear. People say that the Fox 2.0 level kit set at the 2 inches default, will still leave about a inch or 1.5 inch rake.

My 2021 FX4 has a 2" higher rear height, with a totally empty bed. When I had my Yakima RTT and bed rack (115 lbs and 70 lbs respectively), plus about 150-200 pounds of luggage in the bed on my recent cross country trip, I measured the difference at 1.25-1.5". That was with about 400 lbs in the bed total.

What gives? Do I have an odd truck, or did Ford adjust something for 2021?

I'll get pictures tomorrow when I have the truck back in the garage. However, I have always thought my truck looks a little more 'level' than many of the photos of 2019 and 2020 trucks here.

IIRC, I measure 36.5" front and 38.5" rear to the top of the fender.

Idea: Is it possible I have some residual sagging of the rear end due to having 400 lbs there for a couple weeks? I wouldn't think so, but I dunno..

Ed

update: I measured again. Rears are at 38.5".

I measured the height again today, a few days after installing the Fox 2.0 rear shocks. With groceries in the back seat and an empty bed, I measured 36 1/4" front and 38" rear height. This is consistent with the about 2" difference front to rear I've observed a few times now.

I'm curious what any other 2021 FX4 owners measure height-wise.

I difenitely like this over the 3.0-3.5" difference some people state with the 2019 and 2020s. However, it presents a dilemma when I go to install Fox 2.0s on the front later this year. I tow and/or carry a RTT with a bed rack. Both lower the rear end some. I don't want to be nose up. I guess I need to figure out how to adjust the Fox fronts with no or minimal level.

2020 and sitting at 38.5 rear and 35.5 front. Adding a 1" block when I install the FP 2.0 kit later this week to keep 2" of rake.

My 2019 with ~40K miles on stock tires is 35 in the front and 37.75 in the rear on flat pavement with three garbage bags of aluminum and plastic soda cans in the bed, and a tonneau cover.

Almost 3", and I tow quite heavy, quite frequently, so there's one with a different Rake.

It's an FX4 XLT.

Your 2019 definitely had more rack stock than my 2021. Your 2019 had ~3.5" of rake stock then.

Still curious on what other 2021 trucks measure.

I have a 2019 and with the Rough Country 2.5" levelling kit, the front of my truck is 1/2" higher than the back. That's with 100lbs (or less) in the bed.

It sounds like anywhere from 2" - 3.5" stock difference in front/rear height has been observed. Still curious on some other 2021s.

Still odd that there’s such a large variance. I know we’re not taking into consideration tire wear, but there’s no way that is responsible for +/- 2” of front difference.

SuperCab or SuperCrew?

The spring manufacturers variance may account for some of this.

Ahhhh, I never thought of this, It could be just a weight thing, apparently it's getting late for me :)

Supercrew.
From the above replies, it does seem like the front has more variance, but IDK?

My wife's very early 2019 FX4 has nearly 4" of rake, rear springs have a different part number than any I've found on Ford's parts lists.

I half suspect Ford changed the early FX4 rear springs in an undocumented/unpublished midyear change.

And again, Ford could easily make yet another change for the 2021's

To me, the excessive rake looks goofy but the wife loves it!
