Very cool upgrade. But I do wonder what the final cost was.

Yeah, I imagine the final cost was out of my price range. Still something to think about when I win the lottery.

Neat swap. I have a couple more BMW 2002's ( well one is a 1600 ) and rather than build up another highly modded M10 for the next one I was thinking about putting a late model BMW turbo 4 in it and then do the 74 turbo clone look. I could only get about 300hp out of the M10 with 2 bar of boost, longevity was always in the back of my mind. A modern BMW turbo 4 makes about that stock and reliable.

As a 66 Mustang owner, I can accept it. I just think it is funny that even the 2.3L required trimming the shock tower a hair.

As a 66 289 Stang owner I like it .. Love the shock factor , people would not believe what they are seeing , must be an expensive swap to do . Now that I think about it more a Ford crate motor is the easy way out compared to the turbo .

i didnt read the article but as a former multiple mustang owner my first reaction was why a 2.3- stuff the 3rd generation coyote or voodoo in that thing... but, given the size weight savings of the 2.3 and potential for power its not a bad choice at all. i bet if one weighed the 2.3 ecoboost vs. the original power plant from the 60s the modern mouse muscle would weigh aprx. the same or less and make more hp and trq per pound and cubic inch. so despite my original reaction i can see the 2.3 making a pretty nice classic cruiser engine.
