  1. Cops are now using lifted trucks to look for cellphones in your lap

https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/breaking-the-news/new-police-pickups-patrol-for-distracted-drivers/89-04e394ce-2c51-485f-8e8b-14f994509dca Oh the humanity they had to crane their necks! IL cops have a habit of chasing me down just to hover and stare. I figured they were just being...
  2. Checked in on good old Jalopnik this morning

Still as great a joke, er I mean "car" website as ever.
  3. Tire Rotation Pattern

It's time to rotate my tires again. I do it every 5k miles in hopes of maybe getting a tire replacement under warranty because my Wildpeaks are no way gonna last the 55k miles they promise. But regardless if I get it or not I'll rotate them. I took it to the dealer last time just cause it's a...
  4. NTSB wants to add speed limiters to all new cars

Another page turns in our wonderful distopia. I see used vehicle prices skyrocketing as more unwanted garbage gets forced into all new cars. https://www.musclecarsandtrucks.com/ntsb-wants-to-add-speed-limiters-to-all-new-cars/
  5. Bricked Mustang Mach E

I've seen this photo popping up so I checked to see if it's real. There are two different occurrences at least. It's not surprising this is where we are at now. Pretty ridiculous towing instructions there too. Why yes flooring the gas and brake while shifting and facing a tow truck is a great...
  6. Opinions on Transit Connect, Promaster City?

I'm thinking of getting one in the used market. I want a small cargo van, decent room but mpg for road tripping. Like a mini-camper. Most are very high miles (being vans) so it needs to be reliable. I know the 1st gen Transit Connect wasn't very good. 2nd gen seems much better and the GDI engine...
  7. The Spin continues: "EV sales have increased exponentially since prehistoric times"

Electric Vehicle Sales Are Increasing Exponentially The simple fact is people are buying more EVs today then they did 6 million years ago. That means the adoption of EVs in America has gone up 60 trillion billion percent. Checkmate gas guzzler driving luddites!
  8. Tesla Big Rigs get amazing 330 miles on a charge! With no payload!

Real-World Tesla Semi Range Data is In, And It’s Not Bad  🤡
  9. Brake fluid capacity?

For some reason the brake fluid capacity isn't listed anywhere. Owners manual has nothing and no info online. I am doing a brake flush at 3 years. Anyone who's done this how much did you need? It is not cheap and opened bottles take on water and go bad.
  10. The $70K Jeep

https://www.ericpetersautos.com/2023/08/14/the-70k-jeep/ The gladiator was always overpriced (I shopped one that was $3k more than my Ranger and it had roll up windows and A/C as an option) so it's no surprise they are going for one more gouge.
  11. MinuteMan XD

First a 96 month car loan. Then comes the Minuteman!
  12. Charging my EV? No actually my EV is charging the grid...

Imagine going to fill up your tank and instead the gas station takes fuel out because it decides they need it more. California! https://www.energyportal.eu/news/pges-ceo-wants-electric-vehicles-to-save-californias-power-grid-4/136709/
  13. What two and a half years living on gravel roads does to a new Ranger

Guess I shoulda got it in white... I don't see a real solution for this outside of a expensive and ugly line-x coating or maybe I will try doing a strip of plasti-dip. Chips through the 3M strip and even if I got it repainted under warranty it would just chip again with this thin eco-paint.
  14. Those with blend door/bad heater assembly issues, what year is your Ranger?

Title says it all. Trying to narrow down the issue if that's possible.
  15. Are deer whistles worth a damn?

I had the simple non-electronic whistles years ago and I hit a deer with them on the car. I'm wondering if the electronic ones are any better if anyone uses them. They range from $18 to $300. ?‍♂️ https://amazon.com/gp/product/B0000DYV3N https://xp3hornet.com/hornet-model-v-135/
  16. AdvanceTrac off by default?

Anyone know if there is a way to have the nannies off by default instead of having to do a long press every time I start the truck? Mainly to save my rear brakes and take better advantage of my tune. Years ago a company made a module that did this for my Firebird and I think 5 star can do but I...
  17. Today in "What are the rednecks in Missouri doing"

     https://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/d/eudora-e450-van-truck/7515921068.html
  18. Anyone do a tune AND an extended warranty?

Is it a stupid idea? My plan is to get the "near-cost" Grainger 8 year warranty which is really priced right but I still want to get the Livernois tune. I figure I'll be covered for stuff like blend door and most expensive repairs as long as the engine stays solid. I dunno maybe I can pull a...
  19. Heat crack on windshield!

I parked my truck outside to wash it and by the time I was done I had a crack on the windshield! What are my chances of getting this fixed under warranty? The truck is always garaged and if it isn't I always open a window in this heat. I guess my windshield can't handle having the windows up for...
  20. Free Sirius for a week

Actually started on the 26th but I rarely look at my Fordpass app.
