I do like the SB style connectors also, I have an SB120 wired up to the front of my Ranger to run external loads, like a compressor, inverter, etc. My compressor peaks at 90 amps, so an SB50 wouldn't work there.

Nope, you just put your existing truck key into it and turn. It breaks off the pins inside or something and sets the key. Pretty sure the Mfg website has a good demo and explanation video. edit: Here is the video
