Interesting. Mine does not sound anything like that, at least not yet. They only mentioned the driveshaft and weren't specifc about bearings but I'll ask when I pick it up tonight. How long did it take for them to fix yours?
Plot twist! Dealer #2 diagnosed this as a bad drive shaft and not the brakes. The drive shaft will need to be replaced (under warranty) but it is backordered with no ETA. Fortunatley, I'm told it's safe to drive the truck in the meantime.
Matching tires, yes. I haven’t measured the tread depth but I run studded snows in the winter and the stock Grabber’s the rest of the year. Rotated every 4-5k.
Good to know about the grinding noise being an indicator of the worn pads. Thank you, would have been nice if the service advisor could answer that question.
I don't drive aggressive but if I have in fact already burned through my rear brakes, then why is there a grinding sound coming from the wheels when they are not being used? There is an audible noise from the wheels as soon as they start rolling, no gas, no brakes. Perhaps this is normal for...
That price maybe included rotors as well. I'm not sure, I wasn't hearing any of it because I should not be paying anything for brakes at this milage and was annoyed that the advisor could not conceive there being an underlying issue that would wear the brakes down so soon.
I asked them about the parking brake and whether it was stuck and was told no. I can't feel any rolling resistance that would indicate it being stuck either.
My initial thought was also a wheel bearing issue but they told me it's the rear brakes. I'm not impressed with this dealer though and...
I brought the truck to the dealer recently as I was experiencing a grinding sound coming from the wheels when coasting at a low speed. The sound is not amplified at all when hitting the gas or brakes, it's just audible as soon as the wheels start rolling. Dealer said the read pads are worn and...
I have an ARE cap on it and am keeping a 70lb sandbag in the bed for the winter but this issue has been happening since I bought it over the summer, before the cap was installed and with nothing in the back.
When driving at night, other cars in oncoming traffic keep flashing their high beams at me when I'm driving with my low beams on. It's as if I'm driving with my high beams on or my headlights are too bright. Not sure if they need to be releveled or if this is just the nature of truck that's...
Purchased form Stage 3 Motorsports and was used on my truck for 4 months while I waited for my ARE cap to arrive. All parts are included and in great condition. Local pickup only, would be too expensive to ship.
White Knuckle makes rock sliders for the Supercab. These are what I just installed on my truck, except the Supercrew version. Very high quality, I'm very satisfied with them.
