Nothing wrong with good old capitalism. Funny how just a short time ago gas was cheap and inflation was none existent with no complaints about capitalism. Interest rates were as low as they have ever been and the stock market was rolling.
Hmmmmm
I believe in the late 70’s something similar...
When it works it’s great. That is about 98% of the time. When it does not you better hope you did not leave your keys in the cab because “I can unlock it with my phone.” Technology is great when it works.
I used JB Weld epoxy and let the piece cure in place. Then I filled the whole inner area with more epoxy by standing the cover on its end so the epoxy would not run out while curing.
I’m certain it won’t break in the same area again.
Certainly overkill but it’s fixed. Lol
Installed today. Super easy and works as advertised.
Only one issue that JB Weld should fix. Top clip on the handle cover would not unass its clip so it broke.
Best bang for the buck mode yet. Well right after the key bezel ring thing. Lol
I would say $4,000 plus to have all the work done at a stealership.
Front quarter panel, hood, upper bumper plastic thing, headlight, maybe the grill, and brackets. Won't be cheap.
Similar results from the Gulf Coast with many trips to the beaches of the Texas Gulf Coast and direct exposure to salt water. Meaning driving through some salt water to get to the good fishing spots.
The MI road salt appears to be a little bit worse in causing rust.
I will take my hurricanes over long winters. Tomorrow I will get under the truck and take some pics. My truck sees a lot of action at the beach and saltwater. I know there is rust.
Pics to come tomorrow.
Emptied the catch can. No sludge this time and the amount of fluid is way less than last time. Only half the millage but well less than half the amount of fluid.
Makes sense. In HTX we don't worry about that but my beach trips could take a toll due to the salt air and salt water I tend to get on the truck from time to time.
