I was told in this thread by the OP that I could get in on the pre-order by August for a delivered snorkel before next weekend. Glad I made my own with an ebay snork instead. I really hope this Borne snorkel comes to market and is great, but it's vaporware until then.
What is the tube coming off the bottom of the clutch and bolting against the engine? Found mine handing with the engine side somehow crumbling. Cut it back a little and zip-tied it back on. Never noticed any kind of function difference.
I have 80,000 trouble-free miles on my 2019. I have literally never checked the dipstick except after an oil change. A little over 6 quarts comes out when I drain. Plugs look fine. Never noticed a gas smell.
You'll be fine, OP.
Finally an update. Had a lot going on, but we finally made the box. Got a 4x4 sheet of aluminum, bent, welded. Used 3 inch and 3 1/8 inch tube, and here you go. Didn’t have the nutserts for the cover, so that isn’t installed yet.
Pics in apparently mostly random order...
I completely agree with this. I did spacers without disconnecting the axles back in 2019 and came close to killing one CV joint. Did an Old Man Emu strut/spring combo this month, and there was no way to do it without disconnecting the axles. Even then I either created or found (no way to tell) a...
I recently tore a CV boot and ordered a replacement front right axle for my XLT. I will rebuild the first one as a spare. But I noticed while I was ordering the axle that there is another left and right axle with different part numbers that say "tow pack." They are considerably more expensive...
Oh irony. Found a tear in my right side CV boot on the hub side. New axle will be here Monday, and I'll rebuild the current one as a spare. Covered up the tear with a bunch of silicone and it is so far not flinging grease, lol.
Same thing happens to me from time to time. Oddly, it used to happen a lot more to me when the front lift was stock with factory tires. Slightly bigger tires and a 2.5 inch front lift, and it's mostly gone. I thought it was tire rubbing, too, but I could find no evidence of it.
I am at 79k. Zero issues other than a dead alternator last year on the High Watermark Trail. Doing the trail again in a few weeks with a spare alternator and belts. Woo!
I guess this is technically offroad, but I haven't had a chance to do anything since doing the new bumper. Had some issues with the winch, so I'll probably work up the courage to pull the bumper and install the winch in a couple months or something...
Thread makes me want to go spend come money on a VP gas can, partially fill it with water, and drive to and from work for a year with it plainly visible to see if I ever get pulled over. If I gambled, I would put money on "no."
That said, to each his own.
Those look cool. I almost mounted my DD yellows in place of the ARB fogs. Now that I see the fogs in use, I probably should have. They don't really seem to do anything. Reminds of my TJ's pointless headlights but worse.
