  1. Carrying Extra Gas

I just asked a friend who has been patrol for about 15 years. He laughed and said no one cares. Maybe some places do care. I have never even heard of someone being pulled over for something like that.
  2. Borne Off-Road Snorkel R&D Thread

ETA: Would it be "ATE" in Australia?
  3. ARB Summit Bumper and Warn Winch installed

It’s a fair amount of weight. I am getting between 25 and 22 MPG depending on conditions. The level was the biggest thing that hurt my MPG.
  4. Check 4x4

So you'll sell your truck because of a warning that you don't even know the reason for?
  5. ARB Summit Bumper and Warn Winch installed

Anyone figure out to actually use all the LEDs in the otherwise pointless fog lights?
  6. ARB Summit Bumper and Warn Winch installed

Great job, OP! I didn’t realize I had wrong instructions for my smittybilt winch when I did mine, so the winch is still in my garage. Not looking forward to the uninstall and reinstall…
  7. New ARB Skid Plate

So the plates are worth every penny! Had a pretty hard impact on the High Water Mark last weekend. Right under the front diff:
  8. Front passenger window won't lock

The lock is only designed to work on the back seats. It’s designed for little children. Not dogs in the front seat.
  9. Alternator Compatibility (and availability)

Old thread, but I always have a spare alternator and belts on any off-roading trip now. I wish someone made a relocation bracket.
  10. Request picture of rear axle with elocker

Is the non-locker axle housing different, or are the necessary holes/ports in all Ranger rear housings?
  11. detailed description for how to change out the alternator?

None that I have found yet. That said, I had issues due to debris/mud in the water I was crossing. And I was crossing way too fast (not as fast as that video). I have driven through a lot of water and have been fine. Just water is not going to kill and alternator unless it sits submerged and...
  12. detailed description for how to change out the alternator?

My alternator died on the High Water Mark Trail in Arkansas last winter. I was able to drive it 23 miles before things started failing on me. If I had access to an alternator at the time, I could have replaced it. Long-winded way of saying I agree. The truck isn't just going to die on the spot...
  13. Post your off-road pics.

Some friends and I tried a second shot at the High Water Mark trail in Arkansas this weekend. Water level was very low, it was pretty dry, and it was not cold. After trying last year, we all got snorkels, so we were laughing about using them to deal with dust instead this year. We had a great...
  14. Installed a Snorkel (sort of)

So we made it through High Water Mark. Helped that the water was crazy low. But the snorkel helped with all the dust!
  15. Installed a Snorkel (sort of)

I am very impressed with my friend's work! He wants to pull it out and check the welds and bends after my trip. We also thought of ways we could have probably made it a little smaller, but this still works great. I THINK it's hitting the blanket right now, so I may cut some of that away. That...
  16. Long term reliability of the 2.3

I would presume they just changed the range the O2 sensor works on or entered some kind of constant value. We were doing that on Mustangs with much more basic tuning back in the day.
  17. Installed a Snorkel (sort of)

So driving around without the cover on I noticed no real change in MPG or anything else. Hearing the wastegate (or whatever it's called) has been pretty neat. We sorta finished last night. Used smallish self-tappers and RTV just get it done before I leave for HWM Weds, but we are going to use...
